Undeniably God

Obadiah:israel

Edom Will Be Humbled

Thus says the Lord God concerning Edom:
We have heard a report from the Lord,
and a messenger has been sent among the nations:
“Rise up! Let us rise against her for battle!”

For those who don’t understand God’s principles of self-defense, read the Bible.

Battles are not only prevalent, the Creator himself guides many in how to win them.

Who decided Israel has no right to exist?

Besides the fact the Muslims in Gaza never wanted Hamas there to begin with, Israel is defending itself and has every right to do so; and without the permission of anyone.

Hamas began this fight and now are wondering how they are losing so badly…..Well, you won’t see this headlining the top news makers:

God is changing their rockets course in mid-air? Reports from certain terrorists shooting the missiles watch in disbelief as their aim is thwarted by the God of Israel.  Some are now questioning whether “Allah” is really real. For sure “Allah” hasn’t shown up.

The world, including our own government is questioning the on-going fight over the Gaza strip. Blaming Israel for the deaths of many Palestinians is backwards. God is winning this battle for them; and no one is going to stop him. You would think after centuries of this ridiculous idea Israel is just going to disappear off the map, their enemies would wise up and realize God is on their side.

Hamas continues to fuel this fire using innocents as human shields, placing artillery in schools and public parks and allowing the worst photos to be seen as propaganda. These are sick cowards and the news media is feeling sorry for them. Excuse me? Would the world of television show Israeli deaths if they were losing?

The other headline is Egypt is backing Israel; but you won’t read that on the front of the New York Times or catch it on CNN.

An unlikely ally? Yes. Since the Egyptian’s ousted Mohammed Morsi and his dictator regime, the new government has changed the rules. Hamas is connected to the Muslim Brotherhood which is now an enemy of Egypt.

Egyptians are angry that Hamas is killing other Muslims; the Palestinians are their brothers. Many are questioning whether these atrocity killing terrorists serve the best interest of Muslims.

But what is most disturbing is a Hamas spokesperson is shocked the Muslims are supporting Israel and the West, America seem to be siding with Hamas? HOW EMBARRASSING!

In the last few days Egyptian soldiers have discovered 13 new tunnels leading into Israel.

And I have never listened to Howard Stern but let’s give credit when it is due.  He recently confessed his Jewish roots along with a public rant beginning with these words:

“If you’re anti-Israel, then you’re anti-America. They’re the only democracy over there, the only friend we have who’s willing to fight and stand up for what’s right.”

God’s love for Israel stands. And we as Americans better wise up and do the same.

Reflection

As we stood in silence during church this morning the Trumpeter played “Taps.” In this very military based city, Memorial Day holds deep roots.

My father who recently passed away was a veteran in WWII. At 18, he was sent over to Normandy Beach on a ship to clean up the mess. Everyone on the ship got sick he told me, and he survived on 24 Clark Bars because the food was so terrible.

His brother, 17 months older than dad was also in WWII. I can only imagine my grandparent’s heartache at having to send one, much less two.

Dad never talked about his 2 years in the Air Force much. I asked questions but he was for the most part quiet about it all.  Who knows what he saw while he was there.

I know he loved airplanes. When I was young we would drive 20 minutes to the Charlotte airport where people could park their cars and watch the airplanes taking off and landing.

Watching some war movies this weekend brings home the truth of how much I hate war. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen; it has for centuries. God reminds us in the Bible, “there will be wars and rumors of war.” That also means God is with those who are with him.

My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost loved ones in war.

And for families who have suffered under an unconscionable VA hospital system.

We are America and should start acting like it.

For those of us who are Christians, we need to take the authority God gave us through Jesus and stop the enemy.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, for good and not for evil, for a future and a hope.”

A Few Words

Is the enemy attacking you over and over? annoy-complete-strangers

If so you must be a worthy opponent.

He is afraid of what you will accomplishment for the Kingdom of God.

If the battle wages on, keep annoying him. Do what God wants you to do.

The Yoke Unleashed will stomp the devil every time…

If you’re expecting a formal, grandiose “Burning Bush” revelation from God; think again.

Not that he doesn’t find great joy in producing such phenomena but his style I have discovered is also slow, paced and articulate. However let us not forget who is the creator and designer of words, art, color and synonyms.

A major sign of God’s revelation is “peace.” He is a God of order, not disorder. He is also master of the “spontaneous.”fear

While we wait in wonder when he will speak, reveal or show up it is best to commit to getting into his presence and living there. A continuous flow of the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit will give those who seek him with their whole heart blessings of getting to know him.

“Relationship” is one of satan’s greatest fears. He knows when we get into a close relationship with God, he is doomed. Why do you think he has misconstrued, lied and deceptively led people away from the intimate connection with the Creator? He has no fight against it.

Once we are settled in with God the closer we get to him the further away we get from evil. This produces a protective shield, abundance, prosperity, health, vision, guidance, direction, mercy, grace and above all, love.  And satan can’t stand “love.”

Watch how the enemy works. He is incapable of creating anything new now. He has lost and is losing power daily. But he uses that which he has used in the past or repetition.

Look for patterns of attack; health, supply, finances, marriage, divorce, strife, contention, compromise. How long do they last? How often does he switch from one to another? What is his mode of assault?

When he continues to round up his “demons and demonettes” to confront those of God with the same outbreaks, know his options are running out. Remember how God revealed the truth of his actions and the victory he gave you.

The phrase “”keep your friends close, but your enemies closer” has a ring to it. Know your enemy. Learn his tactics. Call his bluff.

Satan deceptively and consistently will tell us what our problem is; only that is to keep us from looking elsewhere. If he can keep us on his track of lies then we will not search other areas where God is waiting to tell us the answer.  The product of fear of what you hear comes from Satan, not God. So if fear of a particular problem continues to feed your mind then most likely that is not the problem at all. It is a stupid, simple tactic of the evil one to keep us off guard from the truth.

A key to remember is his total repetition of fiery darts probably is not at all what it seems to be. Get alone with God and ask him to reveal to you what you have missed, which direction to go and how to get there.  You might even laugh when you find the answer was on the other side from what the devil was telling you.

More than anything seek the peace of God so that whenever the throes of the devil arrive, stay calm, quiet and focused on Christ.  Don’t panic!

Satan has no weapons against peace. He will buckle under and slither away like the snake he is at the sign of no argument.

Peace is God’s weapon for us to use.  Get Peace. And with that peace comes the understanding of God which is a battle won every time.

Shaken not Stirred?

Ian Fleming (1908-1964)Ian Fleming: 1908-1964

Ah, the famous words of James Bond. His signature line used for his favorite drink, a martini was actually a sideline from the author himself.  Rumor has it Ian Fleming preferred his drinks shaken. Stirring a martini he said diminishes the flavor.

So much for Hollywood; if you haven’t noticed the world is shaking maybe you should forego those drinks and look to see what is going on around you.

My world shook last Monday as my husband’s laptop sat in my lap only to throw up the sign, “back up your files; the hard drive is about to crash.”

Now, writing on my very, old, old laptop I am awaiting the results from the local tech savvy repair man to inform me of its fate. Also while we have enjoyed tax free weekend here in SC, my husband used his management techniques to wind his way through 4-5 agents to buy me a new laptop. Information was given to me that wasn’t true so employing him to call works wonders.

I am so looking forward to getting it.

However I must admit God allowed me to see how much time I actually spend on these fixtures of technology.  Unimpressed by my own obsession, getting other necessary things done occurred. My rationale was “God, you know I write a lot about you.”

After realizing what a temporal, sad state I was in, throwing a pity party for the inability to read, blog, post or surf was eluded. In fact, it made me aware of how to live without it again but not for long. While the world is blowing up in literal flames, I became aware once again of priorities.

Yes. The world is shaking. God is moving things around, throwing them out and exposing “dastardly deeds” for whom and what they are. What many believe is unimaginable, fearful and rock solid the end of the world as they know it, is God’s ability to step in and weed out the good from evil.

God gave detailed instructions to Noah to build an ark for a future flood. He was ridiculed, laughed at and thought to be crazy, but he had the last laugh.

Isn’t that what he did when he sent Moses to deliver the Israelites from slavery?

I hate flies, but watching David slay the Giant from a front row seat would have been fun. Can you imagine how “shaken” the rest of his crew were when he fell dead from a rock?

What did they have in common that we have also?

Psalm 91: 10-13 “If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.”

God hasn’t changed since the flood or the parting of the Red Sea or the killing of a giant. He has been the same since the beginning of time.

What he did for them he will and is doing for us.

As he shakes the evil out of people, he has unleashed “Josephs” and “Esther’s” and “Daniel’s” across the lands to gather God’s army together. He is fighting behind the scenes of warfare and showing up in bedrooms of children in country’s laden with the enemy’s grief. (Isaiah 49:25) What we see is temporary; what is unseen is eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:18)

God is with us, beside us and going before us. (Isaiah 52:12)

And I never go anywhere without my Guardian Angels.

Be Still and Fight

James 1: 12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

Do you know what that means?

We are to wear the devil out.  He gets weary trying to keep up with the faithful champions of endurance.

Lately, I am swiping at him from all angles.

Actually, clobbering him.

There is something to be said for justified anger. It breeds passion to do something about that which has been unjustly treated.

The injustice going on in the world has hit an all time high; but on the other side of that is a powerhouse uprising  in the hearts and souls of determined Jesus people.

As I have had to refrain to some extent from using this somewhat broken laptop, I refuse to allow the enemy to stop me from doing that which God has called me to do. If for no other reason I will keep blogging just to make him mad.

The enemy hates perserverance in God’s people. He hates endurance.

Those who seek to remain loyal to God’s call burn him out.

We must have the attitude we will out run him; debiltate him and cripple his incompetence.

Crisis is a normal event in the champions of Christ. Around every corner lies one more battle, one more fight but what most do not anticipate is Jesus is way ahead of it all.   His steps are placed on the scrimmage lines of good verses evil; and he always wins.

Endurance, perserverance doesn’t always come in the packages of action. Human nature is to rush or stir up some accomplishment; an activity producing a visual achievement.

However, agitation is hostile to good.  Calm can perform two actions at once; constructive of good and destructive of evil.

Yes, calm is an action; it is called trust.598770_10151537509956718_743984452_n

God says it is wrong to take matters into our hands quickly or to speed into action. This is where “be still and know that I am God” comes into play. Check in with God first before making any kind of move.  If he says be “patient” then wait until you know you have heard from him.

Go against the grain of the world in fighting off the enemy.  He detests the peace of Jesus in the soul of workers. We are left unburdened and victorious at the same time.

Now that is my kind of warfare.

“The Return of the King”

elijah

There are movies and then there is “The Lord of the Rings.”  Watching the 3rd of the trilogy with our daughter was epic. Full of fantasy, ugly creatures, and bionic spiders good and evil are spelled out with vigor and magnificent description.

The man, JR Tolkien must have had an imagination that never quit. I am not a fan of large, creepy, slimy spiders, horrid Orcs, or the Dead People,
but none make me cringe more than the character “Gollum.”

His beady eyes, rotten teeth, and long, gangly fingers are hard to watch; his voice is scratchy and wicked. He is not to be trusted nor is he worthy of anything good.
His entire world is his deadly pursuit of the “ring.” He will do anything to get it back.gollum

The gruesome battles of winged, disfigured monsters, elephants the size of buildings and tribe after tribe of men with faces and bodies of horror stand out as the ugly of ugly.
These tribal warriors of evil believe they will win the war until the “dead people” show up as the ghosts they are and annihilate them all with whatever dead people use.

Entrenched in this series of battles, fights and in-between moments of love, is the “ring.” According to Tolkien, he never intended the story to be symbolic; but a fantasy series which eventually named him “father of modern fantasy literature.”

His good friend, C. S. Lewis who is famed for “The Chronicles of Narnia” series was gifted also with great imagination and a flare for fantasy. Tolkien and mutual friends of C.S. Lewis were influential in his conversion from atheism to Christianity.

The writings of these 2 stars of Utopian delusion wove a deep thread between right and wrong. C.S. Lewis realized his faith in his characters such as Aslan, the Lion and the Evil White Witch and in the end The Last Battle.

Tolkien had little intentions for his “fantasies” to epitomize the truth of the Bible but it is difficult not to see the resemblance.

Without being a “spoiler” if you haven’t seen the 3rd of the Trilogy, you should; but I recommend watching it on an empty stomach. I would hate for anyone to lose their dinner in the fantasy world of “middle-earth.”

As I managed to swallow some of the gore of headless Orcs or henchmen’s violence, there was an underlying tone of the world we live in. The great Professor endured his own pain by getting bit by a large Baboon Spider as a child, was kidnapped by a house boy and lost his father at a very young age to rheumatic fever. He served in the British Army during WWI where he contracted “trench fever” and trench foot. The result of his miseries is direct connotations in his trilogy. He lived his imagination.

Crazy as it sounds, a tiny gold “ring” becomes the center of world war. Symbolically, we have adapted many “rings” in our culture bringing society to the brink of destruction. The “pull” or attachment of its powers has an overwhelming, life draining affect on the human mind. For some like Gollum, it possessed him; he couldn’t live without it even if it meant death.

Earthly corruption sinks deep and the Titanic’s Captain boasted the magnificent ship was built to withstand anything. Except an iceberg he didn’t see coming.

It matters little the subject; what counts is our ability to separate the subject from our personal creeds. Empty spaces in our lives cannot remain empty. Either we will purposely fill them or they become a barren wasteland full of Orcs.

I would like to think J R Tolkien understood the relative nature of God, the love of God and his affection for his people.  His devout faith remained as a constant throughout his life and hardships.

Researching the upheavals and tumultuous events of this educated, gifted writer and poet, it is evident God spared his life over and over. Why?

To leave a creative legacy of good and evil the secular world would accept. Even as he was awarded the insignia of the Order of Buckingham Palace, and given an Honorary Doctorate from Oxford, his heart was in the characters that played many parts of his own life.

As far as your defiance Professor Tolkien that your literary genius was not symbolic to the writings of the Bible, I beg to differ.

From my viewpoint, it is an imaginary, prolific representation.God calls

An Act of Deceit behind the Horror

The following is my take on an article about the Libya attack and the father of one son who was killed that day.

The article link can be read in its entirety here:

Tyrone Woods

foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/26/father-seal-killed-in-libya-says-clinton-vowed-to-arrest-and-prosecute/…

As a parent I cannot imagine not knowing what happened to my child if they were attacked, mobbed and shot in another country. As a neighbor, church friend or acquaintance to many in our military this unnecessary act of evil strikes home with me very hard.

Charles Wood, father of Tyrone Woods-ex Seal who was killed in Libya wants the truth about what really happened to his son. And why wouldn’t he?

Except he isn’t getting the truth; instead he has received forced apologies, insincere thoughts and distasteful rhetoric from the Obama Administration.

He is proud of his son who is now a hero. He died trying to save the lives of others when he didn’t have to. He rushed to the Consulate hoping/believing our government was finally answering their calls for back-up; help that never arrived.

Mr. Wood describes the killing as a “murder done by those who made the decision to withhold aid for months prior to the attack. And then they lied about it.” Of course the CIA denies the claims they ignored the requests.

Interviews with Mr. Wood revealed his meetings with the President, Vice President and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

The Secretary of State put up a front; and he saw through her lie.

The President looked over his shoulder as if to forego any eye to eye contact. The apology was insincere, and he described shaking hands with the President “like shaking hands with a dead fish.”

The Vice President could not have been more disgusting.

Character is important to America.

Integrity was valued.

Decency upholds the moral codes of our country.

Honesty is the backbone written by the Founding Fathers.

The men and women in our military are trained by these doctrines. Their lives are built around these core principles.

The negligence of our leaders reveals none of these attributes. Sadly, their true nature was lit by a dim light of lies, covering up a lack of ingenuity to do the right thing.

In order to keep it quiet to the American people, they did nothing. An act of prideful campaigning that backfired. The cost was votes from those who might disagree with aiding their own in a battlefield of horror.

Getting re-elected was their post; their badge of honor. But next, to redeem themselves from the chorus of backlash, deception became the order of the days to follow and weeks.

This is an inexcusable defamation fabricated to save the souls of the White House.

For the Wood’s family they wait for answers.

How do they go on? The deserve closure.

Since the leaders of the free world aren’t capable of giving him genuine and forthright apologies, the least they could do is set the record set. He wants the truth.

And he wants to hear it from the President.

Spineless Doormats and Vigilant Slingshots

In a way, my posts have been saying this without saying it but it’s time to get tougher.

Reading the following article from a Professor at Liberty University confirmed my belief that we Christians need to speak up. Not that I have anything in common at all with Donald Trump, you have to admit the guy has funny looking hair, but knows how to “Fire” people and make money. And..he hasn’t changed his funny looking hairstyle for anyone.

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/10/07/donald-trump-right-christians-should-be-tough-like-jesus/

So bare with me now; the last person I ever thought would step foot on Liberty University’s campus is Donald Trump. But he did. And he spoke. At their convocation. Liberty U presently has an enrollment of 100,000 students. They must be doing something right.

Christians need to come out of the closet.

We are not meager, little creatures helplessly waiting to be found. We may have been lost, but not anymore. And we should announce it; we are not plastered to the wall or reading our Bibles in the basement where some would like for us to remain.

Jesus didn’t. 30 years he practiced his calling. Trained as a carpenter, he knew how to use a hammer and saw. Who knows; maybe he re-built the tables he turned over in the temple after he crashed the money changers big party. I wouldn’t call that meek.

In other words, get off of the doormat.

The Bible is full of raging battles, wild chase scenes and chariot races.

David may have used a slingshot, but he was far from being timid and shy. After all he did kill a bear besides a big mouth Philistine.

How could anyone call Paul spineless, or yielding? Beaten, starved, ship-wrecked, imprisoned, stoned, adrift at sea, cold, thirsty and in constant danger. Yet he was still full of faith. Weak-kneed doesn’t fit one who endures such constant calamity.

2 Corinthians 11:25 “Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,”

Joshua took over after Moses died. Talk about a hard act to follow. God tells Joshua in his first chapter to be strong and very courageous. (Joshua 1: 7-9) How did he do that? Moses left him with a bunch of strong-willed, complainers. Joshua knew what he was getting into, yet he followed God’s will for him and succeeded. Joshua had learned from Moses how to step on top of the doormat instead of underneath it.

Following Christ is not easy which may explain our society today.

However, the alternative is worse. Life without Jesus is like blazing through a wildfire hoping you won’t get burned.

Changing the dialogue that Christians are subdued, unpretentious and lenient all the time is necessary in the world today.

Jesus was meek but firm, patient but emboldened.

He was unassuming but bold, humble but not intimidated by anyone.

Jesus was resigned but confident, orderly but also uninhibited.

If God is the author of our lives we should be enterprising in our faith and courageous in speaking it. Our actions should reflect the truth in love, but fearless in our approach.

For too long, the aggressive adversities to the allegiance and loyalty of God have used their platforms to shove us out of the way, pursued re-writing God’s word and attempted to build our caskets.

The time has arrived for Jesus followers to walk through the doors of dogmatism and unfairness. We need to step over an untrodden doormat of conviction and reliance on the Holy Spirit so deep that the evil eyes of misfortune and poison will fall on their knees in repentance.

The wisdom and knowledge of Almighty God is the key to unlock the doors of the headstrong, pigheaded hearts we face every day. We must be vigilant; determined in our communication and endeavors to appease those who deliberately renounce the God who created them.

As a new day is arriving in the Kingdom of God; Heaven’s gates are opening wide. The harvest is great, but the workers are few; and growing.

We are God’s infantry; his soldiers of fortune on this earth. He has been mobilizing his army for such a time as this.

I don’t know about you, but I have traded my doormat for a slingshot.
