You know that Bridge over Troubled Water?

Reading a recent article about Art Garfunkel, I was saddened by his words.

The year was 1970. The hit song, “A Bridge over Troubled Water” rang through the air waves internationally. The lyrics and music along with Garfunkel’s angelic voice gave it recognition, he and Paul Simon didn’t see coming. Instantaneous fame became their way of life. Even those with a crow’s voice like mine were heard trying to sing it.

I remember hearing it over and over with tears falling from my eyes. The words were so profound one couldn’t ignore their touch.

When you’re wearysimon-and-garfunkel
Feeling small
When tears are in your eyes
I will dry them all

I’m on your side

When times get rough
And friends just can’t be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you’re down and out
When you’re on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you

I’ll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on Silver Girl,
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way

See how they shine
If you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Who would have thought 45 years later the two musical geniuses, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel would remain apart by the very song that was meant to “bridge” people together.

According to the article and Garfunkel’s side of the story, he received the glory and recognition because he sang it; Paul Simon wrote it and was left out of the limelight for his talent and gifting.

The two became bitter, resentful and angry. Simon supposedly broke the two up. Garfunkel became a Math Teacher. Simon went his own way.

Growing up in the same place, they were in high school together. Simon who is a mere 5”2 inches tall and Garfunkel at 6 feet tall became friends as Art felt sorry for the short Paul Simon and became his body guard against bullying and ridicule for his height. I can relate although I didn’t have Art Garfunkel to back me up.

It was during this time the two began what would eventually become one of the greatest musical duos in modern history only to be halted by greed and jealousy.

This division is so relevant today it has become mainline.

People are fighting over the ridiculous.

People are angry over words that appear offensive even when they know it’s a lie.

America is divided by its own greed and jealousy to a point the bridge is almost broken in half.

Reading Paul Simon’s lyrics bring to heart a friendship of backbone, strength and courage to be there for one another in times of pain, darkness and when down and out.

But that is hard to find in these days. Humans have no way of bridging the needs of others without the bridge that is already built.

In 1970 I would have thought his words resonated any best friend a person could have humanly speaking. That may be true to a certain extent, but no one person or persons can fill that gap; not even close.

The bridge is Jesus Christ.

The connector is the Cross of Christ as the redemption for our sins.

He is the one who dry’s our tears, shines his light and eases our pain. He is the dream maker who sails beside us, in front of us and behind us.

Jesus Christ is the bridge upon which the foundation of the world is saved.

He is the bridge who laid down his life for every troubled water we may swim in.

And he is the only bridge that gets us across to the other side in victory.

America, Bless Israel Now!

Hear ye, hear ye! America wake up!

It is no laughing matter the state of the union we are living in today. Our country has imploded itself to evil unlimited. We have strayed so far from God we have no choice but to return. You would have thought 9/11 would have been more of a wake-up call than it was. Now we are literally shaking.

This present government has done everything in its power to undermine Israel. And for America that is almost the last straw where God is concerned.

America was founded on Godly principals no matter what atheists or agnostics say. And for the record those who claim such a position have yet to win the argument, “how can you fight against something you don’t believe in?”

We must repent. We must support Israel. We must remove the evils we have allowed to enter. We must get over ourselves.

Recently a 4 hour mini-series titled “The Dovekeepers” was on TV. Roma Downey and husband Mark Burnett made the movie based on the story of the “Masada.” Adding some Hollywood to the movie it was a love story; and a reflection of the Jews in 70 A.D. and the Roman Empire. Besides the history it portrays it also reveals the sins of Israel. You may find yourself in one of the actors.

Without being a “spoiler” I hope you will find a copy of this film and watch it. Understand it is based on truth.  Read the true story of the “Masada” and how the people of God at that time in history survived.

Below is a short video of Israel including the Masada. I hope you will watch it.

“For the times they Are a-Changin”

Bob Dylan wrote that song in 1963; it was released in 1964. Times were a-changin but not for the better.

Did Bob Dylan know the Supreme Court would outlaw prayer in public school as he wrote those lyrics in 1963?

Around the corner in August of 1969 arrived Woodstock. As a student in high school the rumors were “who is going to Woodstock?” It was the hall-talk, locker-jargon and classroom disruptions. The festival was the “place” to go according to the druggies and rock-n-rollers.

Looking back Woodstock was a festival made in hell organized by Satan himself. His deceptive influence had ushered in a generation of hippies who drank, smoked anything that could burn, free sex and ugly clothes. In the last few years those ugly clothes made it to our stores once again bringing back the memories of that mud filled event.hippie wardrobe

I didn’t understand what could be so great about going to an outdoor sing-a-long on a dairy farm with no showers, few outhouses and 3 days of simmering heat. The smell must have been rank. The trash was probably piled high of used drug needles, empty beer bottles, cigarette/weed butts and leftover ugly clothes from those who ended up naked. And attendees left announcing they had been a part of the greatest music event in history.

Was God there? Did he attend this music fest of youth subculture?

Probably. But for different reasons.

He was there answering prayers of many parents of those who went.

He brought his angels to ward off demons of death.

He made his presence known to the devil himself as a warning.

2012 marked 42 years since that 3 day bacchanalia.

And the times they are a-changin once again and it has nothing to do with Woodstock.

Sept of 2009 marked a major era of what the Jewish calendar calls the Ayin Season.

There are shifts occurring in the atmosphere. We will be given new vision or open doors that were not there before. God will give us the ability to see above that which we have not seen before.

What have we experienced over the last 12 months? A barrage of corruption gone wrong.

Benghazi attack
IRS oversight scandal
NSA spy scandal
Associated press investigation: James Rosen
ATF Fast and Furious
GSA scandal of abusing $823,000 of tax payer funds
Solyndra
War on Christmas
(To name a few)

Do you think these fraudulent and dishonest accounts came to light all by themselves?

And what about the men who died in Benghazi? Or Fast and Furious?

As the devil turns up the heat, God is pouring on loads of Holy Spirit fire to stamp him out.

Psalm 34: 15 “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.”
The shift is almost tangible. The air is filled with a new kind of warfare; a battle of supernatural proportions with the “Commander” (Isaiah 55:4) of all humanity leading the way.

According to this Jewish era, this season will bring with it a fresh guidance from God. He will mark the ground before us with his own steps. He will release power unknown before by bringing his people to doors of opportunity.

We will come to closed doors of our faith, health or strength only to be told to open it. On the other side will be strength, might and authority unleashed upon those who follow the “Power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1: 24)

Could it be the “Rewarder” of the faithful has heard our cries? (Hebrews 11: 6)

Could it be the “Spirit of Truth (John 14:1, 15:26, 16:13) is blowing a wind so forceful people will be knocked over by the love of God!

The Time is Now

The song, “Go your own way” by Fleetwood Mac years ago was a very passionate, but heart breaking hit. The story of many, the words were written by Lindsay Buckingham surrounding his brokenness over his lost relationship with fellow band member, Stevie Nicks.

He may have written those words about the woman he loved, but unfortunately they ring true today in the hearts of many across our nation.

Going our own way simply doesn’t work in any relationship. “Doing our own thing” is a sign of sheer selfish arrogance with a rebellious spirit which surfaces in our behavior and actions.humble

The “truth” is based on one fact. God’s word which is Jesus himself.

No choices, no alternatives, no detours. Yet, it is the very dimension left out of every corner and crevice of the hearts of America.

John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Sadly, egotistical pride stands in the way of making right choices. Stepping on anyone who gets in the way of vanity crosses their line of decency. As long as getting their needs and desires met, hurting others along the way is of no consequence. The danger lies in the loss of owning a conscience.

If you live in America and don’t see the “blind leading the blind” then you need more than new glasses. You need a bucket of cold water thrown over your head.

Following anyone who lives in that “dream world” will suffer the same shame, embarrassment and possibly costly after affects.

“Don’t be misled, my beloved brethren.” James 1: 16

This is where knowing and understanding the Bible sets the standards of right and wrong. No excuse is applicable whether it is believed or not. Judgment does not discriminate.

As we are witnessing, lies are being exposed, fraud and underhanded dealings are leaking out of the mouths of “rogue agents.” The liar is always looking over their shoulder for fear of a “whistleblower.”

The fate of others is directly affected by those around them who choose to “go their own way.”

America, it is time to stand for truth.

If you are one that has been “duped” by the illicit exploits of the sins of others, swallow your pride and get over it.

If you don’t, you will join the many who are right now hanging on to a twig.

The Liberated Woman: Eve, Esther, Ruth etc. etc. etc. (Part 3)

The role models of women in the Bible are unshackled, resilient and persistent.  Their place in society was often met with adversarial issues but many rebuked them.female praying with bible

These chosen suffered greatly just as women do in modern society but rose to unknown heights due to God’s power in them.

The truth is we are not all Eve, Deborah, Mary or Mary Magdalene. However, that does not restrict us from becoming all God plans for us nor does it diminish our position.

In modern society Joyce Meyers is most likely the most well-known woman preacher in the world but she didn’t get there by living a “Pollyanna” life. No, her testimony reveals the first 25-30 years of her life were plagued by sexual and emotional abuse by her father while her mother did nothing. The anger, resentment, bitterness, pain and hurt was all she knew until she met Jesus.  I recommend listening to her testimony if you have never heard it, but get a box of Kleenex before you do.  If there is a current observation of God’s ability to change a person, she is it.

The “feminist” movement in the 60’s was a woman-made evil that led many of us to wrong thinking.  Few women have lived up to this hierarchy of royalty by becoming the CEO of major companies, star-studded actresses and political grandeur. Sadly, if you aren’t a part of this elite group, consider yourself a failure.

The question has always bothered me if for centuries women didn’t work outside of the home why now? Because the feminist deemed it so.

The lies started that women could have it all. Oh….the idea women have some great inexhaustible amount of physical energy to not only procreate but financially be a breadwinner.  Lot of good that does if you have a dead beat dad or ex-husband.  Get thrown into the lion’s den of single moms/dads and that theory can fly out the window.  Nonetheless, the married woman carry’s the weight of family reserve, doing laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. etc. etc. and holding down a full-time job.  Oh, is being a wife and mother a full time job in itself? And if I am correct don’t children hang around home until at least the age of 18 +++++++?

Before some of you begin screaming I will get to the Proverbs 31 woman eventually. Hear me out first.

During my years as a single parent I almost killed myself. Trying to live up to this dilemma of super woman only left me with illness, depression and wondering why everyone around me expected more of me than I had to give. It left me empty, hopeless and fearful of failing.

I was so busy trying to do it all, I lost my identity.

I was so busy trying to survive the feminist agenda I began to hate it.

I was so busy fighting for anything to fill my emotional state of disrepair I didn’t know God didn’t expect half of what I was trying to accomplish.

Maybe some of you are saying, “I don’t think it is that hard.” Fine. Where were you those 12 years of me being a single parent? I could have used some help.

The truth is this is not Biblical. During that time I questioned God over and over not realizing the garbage being preached from platforms of “feminist junkies” didn’t apply to me. Actually it doesn’t apply to anyone. It is a fairy tale from hell.

If God created distinct differences between man and woman why are feminists trying to entice women to be men?  When did they decide women didn’t need anyone or anything? Who came up with the idea women are self-sufficient and invincible in their own right? (Romans 12:3)

“I am woman, hear me roar,
In numbers too big to ignore…Helen Reddy, May 1971

If women are declared to be self-sufficient according to the “feminist” it is a slap in God’s face.

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”

To be continued…
