Law? What Law? (Part 1)

Moses has always had a special place in my heart.  The conclusion for that is my empathy for him in his job as the “Deliverer.”

It wasn’t like he chose to be the leader of a pac of complainers who were given the most miraculous displays of God’s extravagant creativity.steve jobs

As the Red Sea parted did he question the journey he was about to embark upon?

Did it register in his prolific mind the day to day fires he would have to put out?

Did God give Moses a heads up prior to the release of the slaves of his prophetic voice? Or his need for Management Class 101?

And what about law school? As the author of the first 5 books of the Old Testament was Moses given an Honorary Degree from the Exodus School of Law? And what about all those Numbers?

The law was written to give the Israelites a Covenant between them and God.  This relationship recognized Israel as God’s Holy nation. The laws were given to help them understand how to worship God and live life as he planned. The basics were:

  1. Guidance
  2. Rules to live a Holy life
  3. Recognizing sacrifices
  4. Plans for feasts and the Sabbath
  5. Instructions for offerings
  6. Understanding how to receive God’s blessings

The Ten Commandments gave an outline for stability in following the law. And the law included the consequences, punishments and written results of curses if broken. In laymen’s terms the law was an Old Testament temporary solution to a permanent one to come.

John 3: 36 “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

An excellent point to make in the Jews observance of God’s law was that they didn’t; or not very well. The actuality of their confirmation was made when Moses went up to God on Mt. Sinai.

“We will do everything the Lord has said.” (Exodus 19:8) God made it clear to Moses the people of Israel would be his “treasured possession” out of all the nations if they obeyed him and his covenant.

Moses made numerous trips up and down the mountain to communicate between God and the people. After he brought the two tablets with the Ten Commandments to the people, they became so afraid of God who was making a lot of noise they chose not to hear from him directly. Instead they wanted Moses to speak for him.

Fear drove them.

Fear was imputed by God to his people to keep them in line.

Fear implemented the laws.

Exodus 20: 20-21 “Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.”

Fear kept the Israelites from choosing to have direct communication with God.

Do you think that happens today?

To be continued…..

That which is Sacred

What was sacred to God, remains.

He has not changed, neither has his Holiness.

Once we realize his stand is immovable, nothing else matters.

The consistent rot looting our minds has taken that which is “Sacred” to God by twisting it, mocking it and burying it with any mosaic of wickedness.  This is the moment knowing how to separate the sin from the sinner really comes in handy. Otherwise, I would be beating some heads with an iron fist.

This guarded reality is in need of protection.

If those who violate the “Sacred Trust” of God actually knew what they were messing around with, backing off quickly would be their next move. Falling on their knees might be the smartest route.

“Loose lips sink ships.” Who can argue with that phrase since it has become so popular?

Taking it lightly is not an option.

Fooling around with the pure, genuine marks of God is serious business. Just ask one of the slaves he rescued from Egypt about “sacred traditions” or the cherished promises of God.

Find out the details of building God’s temple down to the dimensions approximately 180 feet long, 90 feet wide and 50 feet high.  In honor of God’s greatness, this sanctuary housed the “Holy of Holies” along with the two tablets inscribed by “I AM” himself of the Ten Commandments. (Book of 1 Kings)

Ask the Jewish people about their homeland, Israel. The center of the world, this geographical soil represents the surroundings of Jesus’ heritage. As far as places go, you can’t get any more sacred than this.

God’s faithfulness is representative of his pure love given to every human being through a cross his son carried to his own grave.

His death crushed the enmity we were born with.

His Resurrection poured all that is genuine and wholesome from God the Father into our deceptive hearts and souls.

Today, he reigns to share that which is most sacred to him with us.

Himself.

James 3: 17-18 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”

Zion Oil and Gas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaHg6U4Ecn0

Zion Oil & Gas was formed in 2000 by John Brown, a man of deep faith, to find oil and gas in Israel. The company, whose shares are listed on the NASDAQ Global Market (trading symbol ZN), explores for oil and gas on three onshore petroleum exploration licenses (Joseph, Asher-Menashe and Jordan Valley Licenses) covering approximately 218,000 acres onshore Israel.

Zion has submitted a new onshore petroleum exploration license application to the Israeli Petroleum Commissioner that will be named the Megiddo-Jezreel License. Israel’sEnergy Ministry officially published our proposed license area boundaries (approximately 98,000 acres in Israel’s Megiddo and Jezreel Valley).

Above is an excerpt from the web page of Zion Oil.  I would call John Brown a modern day Noah.

We need more people with his dream, passion and love for God and the Jewish nation of Israel.

His story is remarkable; and one worth reading about.

On the 8th day……

On the 8th day God looked out over his creation and asked all the people,and-god-said

“Why isn’t my church praying for America?”

“Why isn’t my church praying for Israel?”

And the people responded,

“But God, we are too busy…what with work, raising a family, soccer practice, church dinners; we barely have enough time to sleep.”

And God replied,

“Have you been living in a hole? Have you paid any attention to what is going on in my world? The suffering, and destruction is making its way into your backyards.”

And the people said,

“But God, can’t you stop it for us? We have a baseball game this afternoon.”

And God responded,

“I could, but only if you pray. And if you don’t pray I cannot protect you from the evil one. You see when my people don’t pray, it removes me as their guard and the enemy fills in that space.”

And the people said,

“But God, are you telling us we have to choose between praying and soccer practice or watching our kids play baseball? And what about dinners at church?”

And God’s voice became stronger.601970_10200451603996995_212544540_n

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

“If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Proverbs 3:25

And the people said,

“So God. Are you telling us our houses will break in half?”

By now, God is scratching his head with impatience.

“LET ME EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.

The nation of America is divided. I have been shaking things up; exposing deceit of all kinds. My heart aches for the little ones who have lost their lives at the hands of wrong thinking; for the ones who have strayed into perversion. I yearn to bring the lost home to me, to stop the violence and restore the wounded. I long to be the voice of reason in a government gone awry and to bring my church back into order.

America is my child; a nation created in the image of my word. I founded you to feed the poor, give shelter to the homeless and use the wealth I have bestowed upon you to supply the world’s needs.

America is my second Israel. The one I formed to aid in my first Israel as their support, strength and guard. America has generated itself as an ally to my homeland in the past, but you have allowed the enemy to infiltrate every part of your being by pushing me aside, removing me from your daily lives.

So here is my decree America.

Come back to me. I have laid upon your hearts my church, to invite me in again.

Fill the Holy Spirit’s yearning to hear you sing my praises, reach for signs and wonders and pray in the heavenly languages waiting on the wings of my angels.

The time is now to prophecy the future of America and Jerusalem seeking the great miracles I wish to impart to you both.

As I spoke the words to you in 1 Corinthians 12, the church is my bride filled with the gifts to be used for all the ages. For the church is one body made up of many parts connected by my Spirit.

So Pray America! Open the doors and pray together! Pray in the daytime! Pray in the nighttime! For the answers to the world’s problems can only be found in my presence.

AND GOD SAID, CHURCH, I AM WAITING FOR YOUR CALL. Or text. Or email.

“Hear ye, Hear ye! Your King is on the Floor!” (2)

We need to get the King off of the floor.

He remains grief stricken for 7 days hoping God will change his mind and spare the child he bore with Bathsheba.

One might wonder if he was wallowing in self-pity.

The household servants may have questioned how long would he remain a limp piece of carpet on the concrete floor?

The thought could cross a mind that he punished himself with a long “timeout” for being bad.

The problem with God is he keeps his promises.

And the King knew this. Yet, he hoped to intervene and change the Lord’s mind.

This was one time David hoped God would not keep his promise and allow his child to live.

It may have been the longest 7 days of this King’s life.

He overheard his servants whispering. Fearing for his life they didn’t want to tell him the child had died.  His appeal of what appeared to be desperation led them to question his emotional instability.

Once the confirmation of death had been handed to him, he got up, bathed and ate.

His servants didn’t understand his behavior at all.

Why? Why did you grieve until the child died?” It is possible they really wanted to say,

“What the heck is wrong with you? Have you lost it completely?”

His explanation was candid. 203a

There was no point in mincing words.

So what was David doing for 7 days while his child lay ill? Crying out to God? Begging? Pleading for mercy for his son? Sure.  Who wouldn’t? But what else was he doing?

Discerning. Waiting. Remaining calm. Listening. Taking a step back.

He yearned to hear his still, small voice.

He positioned himself to keep calm so he could listen.

The need for quiet allowed him to pause before speaking.

David knew what discernment was. He had used it many times before.

David understood sheep. He raised them. Cared for them.  Long, lonely days with sheep may have taught him the “Art of Discernment.”

So how do we activate the “Art of Discernment?”

The Liberated Woman: Eve, Esther, Ruth etc. etc. etc. (Part 2

The greatest liberator of women is Jesus.

Eve has many firsts.

Eve-The-Bible-Miniseries

Eve-The-Bible-Miniseries

Woman
Wife
Mother
First and only woman born without sin
Dressmaker
First mother to a murderer
Eve appeared, she was not born
She was born a perfect and complete woman
Eve was never a child or a daughter
She was the first person ever tempted by Satan
The first sinner
Eve is called, “The Mother of all the Living”

Miriam was the older sister to the “Deliverer” Moses saving him from infant death

Sarah was the founding mother or matriarch of the Tribes of Israel

Rebecca was the wife of Isaac and the first woman to seek God directly for answers to her condition

Esther saved the Jewish nation

Deborah was a prophetess, a judge of wisdom and could be considered the first woman General.

Ruth was the great-grandmother of Israel’s great king, David

Mary, the mother of Jesus. Enough said.

Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute as some have written. She was healed by Jesus and the first person to witness the resurrection. She is called “Apostle to the Apostles” because Jesus told her to go tell the disciples he was alive.

Elizabeth was the mother of John the Baptist and Mary’s cousin.

The Samaritan Woman met Jesus at the well and had the longest recorded conversation with the Messiah.  So taken by his presence she became a true force of spreading the “living water” he told her about.

Wife of Pontius Pilate had a dream and told her husband to have nothing to do with this man named “Jesus.” Of course he didn’t listen and the rest is history.

The woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus garment and was healed. Against all strict law she was forbidden to be in public, much less touch anyone. Yet, Jesus called her “daughter.”

Jesus rescued the woman caught in adultery saving her from immediate death by stoning. He did not condemn her; he told her to “go and sin no more.”mary magdalene

There are other women of the Bible with legacies worth reading.

God is the author of freedom for women. Outspoken, strong and tested these women play a role to follow. They didn’t keep their mouths shut or sit at home eating Twinkies and knitting all day. NO…..they defied man made laws that oppressed them and took great risks for the sake of truth.

So…what did the role of Christianity do for women? And how should we apply it today? to be continued…..

The Agressors of Arrogance

Traveling the same road for years to the store are some areas that have taken a hit as far as progress goes. As if time stands still many houses are old and run-down. Most likely families have remained never moving anywhere else. This is the deep- south where life is slower; people are generational but true to their heritage.trust me

One particular house has always caused me to look a little deeper.

With white painted wood on the outside, it is rather dilapidated and old. It has potential, but definitely needs a lot of TLC. The structure isn’t what catches the eye but the front yard.

A chain linked fence that once use to go around the house is bent and partially gone. Covering the fence is a massive dead tree uprooted from the ground. The limbs extend over much of the yard revealing the demise was long before we arrived 6 years ago.

The size of this tree is so large the culprit that took it down had to have been a tornado or most likely a hurricane that blew in from the coast.  No one has made any effort to remove it even though it is an eyesore.  Who knows if it was too costly or a reminder of days past; whatever the reason I am always curious as to the story behind it.

Driving past it yesterday I sensed the evil that extracted the roots of such a colossal plant. Power so strong the ground probably shook when it fell.

However on either side of this plot of land home to this ugly dead tree, was an upgrade of life.  A few flowers here and there, with some shrubs or plants lining the area.  Not a huge bump of landscape but enough to notice.

God reminded me of David and Goliath.

David: The Bible Mini-series

David: The Bible Mini-series

David, the unlikely aggressor took to the stage of the Philistine’s mockery and came out swinging.  Unafraid, the sheep herder picked up stones and vowed to end this 40 day display of arrogance & taunting.

David didn’t look at the Philistine. He set his gaze beyond the giant and saw his God.

Placing his faith in the God of Israel, he knew before he threw the stones the fight was already over.  The Philistine and his armored militia never saw the curtain fall on their bad acting.

Just like the ugly dead tree, God surrounds evil with his good. The appearance of a “shroud of doom” covering our land, are the “David’s” who are resting in the shadow of the Almighty waiting to trample the great lion and the serpent.

We as Christians must do as David did and look past, over, around or under the destruction that blocks our way.  What we see is temporary; what is unseen is eternal.

We have the same God David did.

2 Chronicles 20: 15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

No matter how many “Goliath’s” are out there, God is bigger than all of them.  Trust him to give you a sling shot and the ability to carry out his purposes.

What are you waiting for? Go find your rocks.

Where is the Tag Police when you need them?

Usually there is plenty of room for scatterbrains; most of the time I do not fit in that category.  Maintaining those moments are either “elder moments” or that ah-ha!

You know life is busy and full of who knows what when you come back from a trip to the store only to find out the brand new blue jean shorts you wore still have the price tags on them.

The cardboard tag attached to the back of the top of the jeans is still stapled in place. But worse is the plastic strip that slides down the back of your thigh giving homage to the size and style.

Once discovered you begin to wonder who noticed.tag2

Then you wonder what they thought; did they laugh and point it out to their friends saying, “She must not know the tags are on her pants! LOL!

Then you wonder why someone didn’t tell you.  At least I wasn’t hunted down by the mattress tag police who so rudely write, “DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG BY ORDER OF THE LAW.”

It is a stark reminder my brain may not be functioning as it use to but then again maybe it has just gotten too crowded in there.

Responding to a comment lately of my love for reading, I have to wonder if God is trying to tell me “don’t cram so much in that little head of yours” or if I just forgot to take the tags off.

Recently statistics revealed people who are on the internet, pc or phone a lot tend to let other things become “null and void.”  I submit to that as a valid customer of the literary scene or blogosphere.  The conjuncture of the price tags is a result of brain overload.

Keeping our minds clear is essential to focus. Focus is necessary to reach successful achievements.

Keeping our focus is as serious as what we read or listen to. What goes in must come out.   The information, good or bad we receive will ultimately become our focus or direction.

If you listen carefully to the subject matter of conversations, you will quickly notice what is important to the person speaking.  Today’s world is full of noise, garbage and lies.  The choice is ours individually what we do with it.

Ramming your brain with loud, negative abusive music or foul language will produce adverse and gloomy moods and actions.  Unfavorable attitudes and pessimistic dispositions are no fun to be around because those temperaments are contagious.  Persistent cynicism breeds cynicism.  Eventually what you hear repeatedly will become what you believe.

Empty your brain of such miserable burdens and begin to fill it with positive, uplifting Godliness. The importance of depleting the vulgarities is absolutely necessary to make room for the Holy Spirit to immerse your thoughts with God’s word.

The difference is immediate and once you start this process the desire to retreat is lost.

God speaks of becoming empty vessels.

2 Kings 4:3 “Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.”

In other words, fill your empty vessels with the truth.

Now that is noise worth listening to.

Is it Raining?

When it rains it pours.IRS

Trust has to be earned. Sincerity and honesty don’t come wrapped in a package with ribbons.

Unless you have been on another continent or stuck on a remote island with no communication with the outside world, understanding the truth of trust broken in America has hit an all time high.

As the leader of the free world stands behind a real podium and announces, “I had no idea any of this was going on” many questions fill my brain.

What was it Bill Clinton repeated over and over?  “I did not have sex with that girl?”

If there is a correlation here to the present condition of our government, it is a real lack of trust within the administration itself. One dept. after another including individuals would just as soon throw each other involved in the latest defamation of our freedoms under the next bus that drives by 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Trickle down suspicion is the first secret to be exposed. One by one the malice spreads until the dark shroud is lifted by some degree of confrontation or truth spilled unexpectedly. Lies eventually speak for themselves.

As if the latest explosions of treason weren’t on the radar, the only hold out was when they would detonate. If you didn’t see this coming you must have been watching the shopping channel.

The Obama Administration:

“The government has placed itself in the position of never getting caught. Do whatever needs to be done to get what we want. It doesn’t matter who you step on, what group you profile or what embassy gets blown up; we will press forward with the democratic agenda. If we have to we will rid the nation of conservatives who are racist, extreme terrorizing groups and individuals who desire to end abortions, stop Gay Marriage and use guns to shoot those of us who disagree with them.”

Unfortunately, attitudes such as the above are a result of the blindness of liberals. I for one am disgusted at the constant attacks, ridicule and lies being told about those of us who follow the constitution and live accordingly. After this past week, they have no argument. Besides the facts that have surfaced implying possible criminal activity is the sickening hypocrisy the left has hurled continuously at conservatives.morals

Regardless of how this plays out, consequences of sin from this government have already been set in motion. The absolute turnaround within the last few months of an arrogant, sanctimonious group of people is now emerging.

As I have written over and over, no matter what good may result from the present Government, issues such as homosexuality and abortion have been stipulated by God as reprehensible acts. These issues will trump anything else. God is not in the bargaining business.

America is a chosen nation by God to aid Israel. America is a chosen nation to financially bless other countries in need. America is a chosen nation by God to set an example for others to follow.

My prayer is that those who have misunderstood the truth will allow God to open their eyes and hearts. This is not about getting revenge or reprisal. It is about restoration and repentance for our nation that is hanging over many cliffs.

If I didn’t know any better, my sense is a new leader has moved into the Oval office.

2 Peter 2:19 “They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”
