America, Bless Israel Now!

Hear ye, hear ye! America wake up!

It is no laughing matter the state of the union we are living in today. Our country has imploded itself to evil unlimited. We have strayed so far from God we have no choice but to return. You would have thought 9/11 would have been more of a wake-up call than it was. Now we are literally shaking.

This present government has done everything in its power to undermine Israel. And for America that is almost the last straw where God is concerned.

America was founded on Godly principals no matter what atheists or agnostics say. And for the record those who claim such a position have yet to win the argument, “how can you fight against something you don’t believe in?”

We must repent. We must support Israel. We must remove the evils we have allowed to enter. We must get over ourselves.

Recently a 4 hour mini-series titled “The Dovekeepers” was on TV. Roma Downey and husband Mark Burnett made the movie based on the story of the “Masada.” Adding some Hollywood to the movie it was a love story; and a reflection of the Jews in 70 A.D. and the Roman Empire. Besides the history it portrays it also reveals the sins of Israel. You may find yourself in one of the actors.

Without being a “spoiler” I hope you will find a copy of this film and watch it. Understand it is based on truth.  Read the true story of the “Masada” and how the people of God at that time in history survived.

Below is a short video of Israel including the Masada. I hope you will watch it.

Denomination in Defiance of Israel

Having been a member of the Presbyterian Church USA denomination years ago,
I am outraged at the latest affirmation this particular group has adopted.Kingdoms_around_Israel_830_map.svg

As a liberal limb of the Presbyterians this denomination continues to reflect the political ideology of America rather than abide by the Word of God.

Instead of aligning themselves with Israel, they have decided it is the problem in the Middle East.

Zionism Unsettled: A Congregational Study Guide is the newest release from the Israel/Palestinian Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church, USA. Declaring Israel as a “human rights degradation” within the Palestinian people is the basis of this so-called newsletter.

Never mind that Israeli teachers walk around with rifles attached to their belts.

Forget the number of attacks in the last 5 years on the Israeli’s killing children and injuring many others.

Don’t remind the Palestinians of how many of their injured are treated and cared for by Israeli doctors and clinics.

The truth is the Palestinians have no military. For the most part the Palestinians are disorganized and unable to have efficient local entities to keep peace.

Israel has one of the best in the world and for obvious reasons.  Rebel Palestinians use any means of weaponry against Israel and yet according to this journal and I quote,

Zionism Unsettled explains accurately and concisely why it is essential to look at the theological roots of Zionism, and how it has appealed to both Jews and Christians, in order to understand the true nature of the long ordeal suffered by the Palestinian people, as well as the real roots of so much of the strife in the Middle East.”

According to the Anti-Defamation League’s press release this report reveals 4 reasons Israel is now considered the Presbyterian Church USA’s enemy and they are:date-palms

  1. Israel is the responsible party for the Palestinian conflict
  2. Israel has no right to a homeland
  3. Zionism is evil resulting in ethnic cleansing and cultural genocide
  4. If you are an American then you share in this evil against the Palestinians

God is clear about Israel. If you don’t support his people and homeland he will not support you. That includes governments and churches.

Prepare to go to Ittoqqortoormiit

Remember the story I told way back about the man who went to Africa? He knew God had called him to go but it was what he didn’t know that made his trip questionable.

He was willing to follow God across the world to a little village and live in a humble straw hut.

How many of us would do the same?

Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland

Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland

Fear that God will send his children to the Rain Forests of the Amazon or to one of the most remote places on earth, Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland. Who wouldn’t want to go to Greenland to this small village of 500 people who hunt whales and polar bears? There is a small airport 25 miles away only getting a flight in or out is rare.

God is good at unloading on his children that which they can’t possibly do on their own.

The line, “God will never give us more than we can handle” is true; that doesn’t mean we will like it.  We may even wonder “what does this have to do with me, or where is this going Lord?” Pulling a “Jonah” and running away or asking God to send someone else to Nairobi likely crosses the minds of many of us.

The methods or course God sends to his followers is to bring them into the consecrated life of holiness and sanctification. In other words he uses what is necessary to bring his saints to his point of view.

Paul knew what this meant. He lived it.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

Chained, imprisoned, starved, shipwrecked, beaten over and over; persecution became Pauls’ best friend.  His life after conversion was no piece of cake. Hunted down by his own people, he became a traitor of the Jewish hierarchy.

Paul was aware from the beginning of his new life with Christ he would suffer for his choice. Was he happy about being beaten? Did he enjoy prison? If not, then why did he do it? Why did he choose to follow Christ when he could have lived his life as a prominent, educated Jewish Pharisee?

He wanted to identify with Christ.  He was prepared to do whatever God asked of him if it meant becoming more like Jesus. He was willing to risk losing it all for the sake of the Cross of Christ.

Following Jesus is costly.pack

It is so costly it gives freedom from all that is unlike God.

So, are you packed? Ittoqqortoormiit is waiting.

The Price of Gold

This past week my husband and I watched the mini-series “Klondike.”  DVR recordings make it easy to view a 6 hour broadcast at our convenience.

My reservation before starting this venture was the ratings it was given. However, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. The Directors and Writers researched this gold rush so it was based on actual events along with a few of the characters.

The story began in 1897 when gold was discovered in the Klondike River in the Canadian Yukon Territory. The following statistics explain the mission of those who attempted this trail blazing feat.

→Miners had to pack a year’s worth of supplies equaling or more than 1000 lbs; or $40,000.00 worth of stuff.

→Winter produced elements unbearable to survive including temperatures of 60 degrees below 0 or worse, piles of snow and ice and wind strong enough to blow you away.klondike claim

→The Klondike River stretched 2000 miles; and it wasn’t an easy ride.

→“Dead Horse Gulch” killed over 3000 horses and mules called “pack animals” who were left to rot.

→The “Golden Staircase” was a 30 mile trek straight up the Chilkoot Pass. If you were fortunate enough to avoid an avalanche it took 3 months of travel to reach the top. Rain, wind, and snow so bright it was blinding; many did not make it.

The Golden Staircase

The Golden Staircase

→Main Street in Dawson City, the hub of Klondike Gold was so muddy, those with horse drawn trailers were charged to use it.

→Gold is 19 times heavier than water so panning was popular. The ground was so frozen dynamite would not work so fires burned around the clock to soften it to dig down deep into the earth.

→Underground mining was dangerous. If you didn’t die from falling into a dug-up hole, many were plagued with frostbite, malnourishment to pneumonia to scurvy. Those who survived became rich men.

→Witnesses say they saw prospectors pulling the equivalent in today’s money of $500,000 out of the ground in a day and over $20 million in a span of weeks.

The movie made the lives of these gold seekers as real as if it happened yesterday. If you chose to take this adventure, daily life was nothing short of living in mud, illness, violence, jealousy, and death. Forget bathing; it was unnecessary.klondike claim

A Priest appeared on the scene as if he had a calling from God to try and save this replica of “Sodom and Gomorrah.” If the miners weren’t mining they were filling the saloons for whiskey, poker and women.

The Klondike Gold Rush dramatically exposed the “Survival of the Fittest.” More died than lived.

Staking a claim for a block of ground was worth fighting for even if it meant murder.  Leaving your “claim” for a short walk was an open door for the next thief.dog sled

Proverbs 16:16 “How much better to get wisdom than gold!”

Believing people really took this journey under the conditions it produced left me with some questionable conclusions.

Anyone in their right mind would never have attempted such a trip.  For those who did they had to be stupid, crazy, desperate or so greedy risking everything including their lives was worth it.

They couldn’t have possibly placed much value on life.

Making it to Dawson City would have been a 4-5 month jaunt in who knew what kind of weather. Upon arriving would be a daily fight to keep the necessities just to make it another day.

Proverbs 28:25 “A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be enriched.”

Staking a claim didn’t guarantee it was yours to keep.

And if you were one of the very few who found gold the best advice was to keep your mouth shut.

And even then, somehow others found out.

Greed. An ugly, self-indulgent, gluttonous craving.

I’d rather find gold Solomon’s way.

What is God really up to?

The lingering question outlines many who wonder where God is.

As I previously wrote, God is in the midst of us no matter what it looks like; and it looks pretty bad.

However, it is usually in our worst of times whether private or public God makes a show of his greatness.

We pride ourselves on knowing how God is going to do this or that, when the Bible clearly states,

Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t care how God shows up; the point is that I trust him to do so.

One example of his surprises is in 2nd Chronicles 20.

Jehoshaphat, King of Judah found himself in a mess. Armies of enemies were heading toward God’s people.

Moabites, Ammonites, Meunites and all the “ites” made up a vast militia that wanted his kingdom gone.

As Jehoshaphat heard the news, he gathered the assembly of Judah at the Temple and announced to the people what they were up against.

Fear must have swept over him as he began to cry out to the Lord for help. His prayer was detailed with explanations of what was about to happen to his people if God didn’t intervene.

Instead of focusing on the enemy they kept their eyes on God.

So what does God do?Kingdoms_around_Israel_830_map.svg

He pulls an ambush.

The Spirit of the Lord spoke to a man named Jahaziel.

“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Go out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.”

The next day, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing and praise God.

A funny thing happened while they gathered together making music.

Instead of coming after the people of Judah, the enemies began fighting each other. In an all-out slaughter, not one was left. It took 3 days for God’s people to gather the plunder which included equipment, clothing and items of great value.

The 4th day, they didn’t play Spades or Monopoly. NO…..they assembled together praising God for saving them.

God sent some nasty plagues to Egypt for resisting Moses to let his people go.

The Red Sea parted in what may have been one of the most extravagant miracles God has ever pulled.

The Walls of Jericho fell while the Israelites marched around it.

And he preserved the families of Judah, the lineage of Jesus, with a surprise trap that no one saw coming.

These miracles made their way to other lands and adversaries.  It was well known the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was a force to be reckoned with.

I wonder; if God pulled off such supernatural exploits in Old Testament times, do you think he might do it again?

History does repeat itself.

Hmmmmm….an ambush?wlEmoticon-redheart.png

Rumblings of Noah’s Ark

As you can see from this very amateur video our cat loves this swing. Late afternoons the swing becomes her bed. She has no fear of the movement; in fact she loves for us to push her in it like a child!

In her mind, the swing is now hers. She allows us to join her as long as she gives us space to do so. Once we are settled in beside her, contentment is established and she is one happy, feline.

Cats are graceful and smooth in their movements. Blessed with perfect balance, leaping to great heights or falling from trees, cats usually land on their feet.

The peacefulness she exhibits, her emotional nod of unwanted prey and the details of her balance are characteristics natural to cats. Her instincts, perfect as they are can be the workings of God.

Animals can be tell-tell signs of our surroundings. As if to feel sensations from the earth beneath them that we don’t, our pets may be giving us signals.

Reading the book, “Unusual Prophecies being Fulfilled” by Perry Stone, he elaborates how animals play a role in impending catastrophes.

In 2004, the tsunami that hit from Indonesia to Kenya killed around 300,000 people. That figure does not count the thousands that went missing. After the massive destruction, many were shocked to find few animals had died. They reacted by moving inland and away from the coasts to higher ground before it came ashore.

The strange behavior of elephants in a park in Sri Lanka were seen running from the beach inland an hour before the tsunami showed up. Some of the elephants were carrying tourists on their backs and saved their lives.

December 26 in Sri Lanka, it was noted how odd birds, monkeys and dogs were acting before the waters ravaged the area. Bats usually sleep upside down during the day, but 30 minutes before the tsunami rolled in the bats were flying around.

The age old question of how the animals knew to go to Noah’s Ark before the flood is one many have asked. If animal’s sense natural disasters prior to them occurring, is it possible they headed to higher ground such as the location of the Ark before Noah closed the doors?

Genesis 7:4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”

The ground beneath us changes causing atmospheric rumblings before a catastrophe occurs. Animals instinctively know something very bad is about to take place as they react to these underground altercations.

Dogs bark nervously and cats whine showing signs of restlessness before an earthquake. Before Christ, in Helice, Greece was a devastating earthquake. History recorded that prior to this quake, rodents ran away, chickens stopped laying eggs and bees left their hives in a panic.

Our animals may play a much larger role in our lives besides giving us laughter and joy.

As Geologists probe the world of possible natural disasters, hopefully we can learn from the many hurricanes, tornados and storms that have ravaged the US in the last 25 years.

We should be alert, aware and pray for protection as the earth rumbles beneath us. These “birth pains” are like our animals, warnings of what may come.

As far as the theory of how the animals knew to walk two-by-two into the Ark, you have to admit the whole story is quite bizarre.

Truth is, maybe we have underestimated our furry friends.

Or better yet, we underestimated who created them.

Far-Fetched Blueprints

Labor done in peace is productive. How then can our
hurried society accomplish much of anything?

Action is everywhere but in the kingdom of God strength is found in the quiet, rest of God.
So how can we be strengthened while running marathons?

Impatience is the hostility of peace. Clear headed thinking is knocked off its pedestal, and replaced with mistakes.

Do you recall a time when Jesus rushed or hurried? As he approached the sisters of Mary and Martha whom he cherished after their beloved Lazarus had died he made it clear he made no effort to arrive before his death.

John 11:21 ““Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

Jesus knew Lazarus was dead, yet he waited 2 days before going to Judea where he was already buried in a deep grave.

We can look into the Middle East right now and understand the results of no peace, no rest or quiet with God. Fueled by hate, anger and religious piety, many storm the doors of innocence with desires to take into their own hands the vigilante motive of nations gone wild.

Jesus never fell for it. And neither should we.

Jesus could have spared Lazarus from dying by rushing to his deathbed, but he lingered with diligent composure.

They didn’t know what Jesus knew. They didn’t know what he would do, if anything. They didn’t understand his ways.

Yet, to many it would appear he used Lazarus as bait for the glory of God to be revealed. Maybe so, only he was far from the hook.

The conversation of how crazy and weird Christianity looks to unbelievers is noted. Just as Jesus was born to a virgin by the Holy Spirit is synonymous to me believing there is really a Rat Temple in India where rats are considered sacred.

When Jesus approached the sisters mourning the loss of Lazarus, the thought of yelling to a 4 day old dead body in a stinking, nasty tomb, “Lazarus, Come out,” is as far- fetched as rats reincarnated as human Indian royalty. It is too outrageous and unbelievable for our logical thinking brains to comprehend, process and accept. Jesus purposely delaying his travel to Judea is just as shocking and brazen, but he was in no hurry because he planned it that way all along. His point was to show the miracle was only a miracle when peace was paramount.

So it is with Jesus’ long-suffering in allowing us to fall before him after years of running in the opposite direction of his redemption.

As believers yearn and await his magnificent return, he is calm but persistent in  allowing sinners to find his cross.

The representation of Jesus waiting to raise Lazarus from the dead is an example of how he expects us to live. Obviously Jesus could have performed this miracle as easily while Lazarus was dying as he did after his demise.
He chose self-controlled restraint instead of agitated urgency to fulfill Mary and Martha’s request.

Isaiah 32:17” And this righteousness will bring peace. Yes, it will bring quietness and confidence forever.”

In other words he saw the big picture.

He was honoring the father with a display of glory never seen before.

He won more souls raising Lazarus from the dead than if he had healed him while alive.

Our plans are not in time but based on eternity.

Our futures are outlined in unseen blueprints.

Our swift expedition will not accelerate our arrival.

America is running a marathon of disobedience.

Geographical Trivialities and No Nonsense Belly Aching

For the last few months the news has zeroed in on Syria. Another country chained to a sadistic dictator.

President Assad continues to ravage his people with death all in the name of power.

The ultimate in greed and selfishness, these people will do anything to keep their position.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Afghanistan insurgents beheaded 17 civilians at a party.

Pakistan has displaced 700,000 people after flooding. Civil unrest continues along with the
mistreatment of women and young girls. Rape, forced marriage and domestic violence are abuses being done every day.

Recently the police recovered the dead body of Muqadas Kainat and postmortem was
conducted which proved that Muqadas Kainat was gang raped and later strangled to death by five men. She was a Christian.

August 16, 2012 in Islamabad, a 13 year old Christian girl was beaten, and imprisoned for burning the Koran; she did not do this. She wasn’t even aware of the law. She is one of a family of about 500 Christians who were living in Islamabad who after this false accusation fled their colony as the Muslims announced over the loud speaker what she had done. Angry attackers attacked their homes, breaking down doors, and beating many of them. They burned what little they had and told them to leave.

These horrific accounts happen daily in these countries. The last 2 are the ones we, in America rarely hear about. There is little or no protection for Christians and women.

And we think we have problems here.

We have nothing to complain about.

How can we possibly be fighting over such trivialities in America when in these other countries they are glad to have lived one more day?

Our peacekeeping measures work as long as our military is present but once we leave territories full of extremists; they start all over again with the “war mindset.”  They know nothing else. They fight. They hurt. They kill.

We in America have been spared of so much. Why I wasn’t born in Pakistan or Afghanistan is a mystery. It could have been any of us living in these war ravaged countries.

Crossing my mind, many times is the huge body of water that separates America from Europe; the Atlantic Ocean.

Had that body of water not been there, our lives here may have been very different. Due to the distance between the two continents  in a strange sort of way it has cushioned us from battles; wars, and attacks of all kinds. Who would have thought a body of water would be a wall of natural protection. God?

Do you think he planned it that way?

Do you think he had reasons we don’t know about for placing the earth’s geographical regions where they are?

If that is what he did, why is Israel a sitting duck? Why is that tiny little spot on earth surrounded by groups of people that want to annihilate it?

The only answer I can come up with is God is going to show his awesome power by preserving his people and his land. No one will be able to take what belongs to him.

And maybe, just maybe our position on earth in America is the support system God planned for Israel.

Anyone want to bellyache now?

Children of a Lesser God

There is no lesser God when the Cross of Christ is present. He is the same, was the same and will be the same.

He is the same God for all. No one is lesser in his eyes. How could they be when he created them?

We live in a fallen world. God is incapable of creating evil.

1 Timothy 4: 4 “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.”

Alfred Lloyd Tennyson wrote:

“O me! for why is all around us here
As if some lesser god had made the world,
But had not force to shape it as he would,
Till the High God behold it from beyond,
And enter it, and make it beautiful?”

John 1: 1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.”

Aren’t you glad a lesser god didn’t make the world?

What would be the point in anything?

If a lesser god had created the world, we would see chaos, destruction, war, degradation, and evil so poisonous mankind would have ceased to exist long ago.

Life of any kind would have died out, never been born or had the survival skills to remain.

So…..if you grasp the significance of the perfect God, it defies all other theories that God creates anything lesser.
We are created in his perfect image. The image we receive as Christ our Savior which we will acquire when we join him.

A lesser god would only create imperfection which would send a ripple effect of more imperfections.  The question then arises,

If the world were created by a lesser god, how could that god continue to exist?

For the skeptics, non-believers and such how can you justify the perfect God is the blame for the chaos,
disorder and rampant death in the world we live in?

To deny the existence of our perfect God is to deny your own existence.
The reason being is God took the evil and made good out of it over and over.

When Adam and Even sinned, God could have said,

“Ok. I’m done with you people. Forget my plans. You have messed up big time. Therefore I am ending it all now.”

Whoa! You should be glad that decision wasn’t left up to most people instead of God Almighty.
Ending the world at that moment most likely would have occurred.

But…..God didn’t. A lesser god would have. The ugly prince of this world would have allowed a destructive apocalypse promptly. The destroyer would have won. The evil he imploded would have set the galaxies in an instant demise.

The Alpha and Omega, the Chief Shepherd, the Anointed One, our Everlasting Father knew what had to be done.
He wasn’t about to allow evil to win. He planned it down to the last breath of his son on the Cross for the redemption of mankind.

A lesser god could never have produced it.

A lesser god would never have wanted it.

A lesser god would have lost it all for the sake of no one.

The true and only God of the universe is the only avenue the world exists today.
In the midst of horror, tragedies, wars, and disgrace, he sent his son to shed the only blood that would count.

The blood of Jesus, holy and pure set itself against non-existence of mankind.

The perfect blood of Christ covered the imperfect blood of the enemy.

So……the next time you question the existence of our awesome, magnificent perfect God, think about how fortunate you are not to be children of a lesser god.
