Bob Dylan wrote that song in 1963; it was released in 1964. Times were a-changin but not for the better.
Did Bob Dylan know the Supreme Court would outlaw prayer in public school as he wrote those lyrics in 1963?
Around the corner in August of 1969 arrived Woodstock. As a student in high school the rumors were “who is going to Woodstock?” It was the hall-talk, locker-jargon and classroom disruptions. The festival was the “place” to go according to the druggies and rock-n-rollers.
Looking back Woodstock was a festival made in hell organized by Satan himself. His deceptive influence had ushered in a generation of hippies who drank, smoked anything that could burn, free sex and ugly clothes. In the last few years those ugly clothes made it to our stores once again bringing back the memories of that mud filled event.
I didn’t understand what could be so great about going to an outdoor sing-a-long on a dairy farm with no showers, few outhouses and 3 days of simmering heat. The smell must have been rank. The trash was probably piled high of used drug needles, empty beer bottles, cigarette/weed butts and leftover ugly clothes from those who ended up naked. And attendees left announcing they had been a part of the greatest music event in history.
Was God there? Did he attend this music fest of youth subculture?
Probably. But for different reasons.
He was there answering prayers of many parents of those who went.
He brought his angels to ward off demons of death.
He made his presence known to the devil himself as a warning.
2012 marked 42 years since that 3 day bacchanalia.
And the times they are a-changin once again and it has nothing to do with Woodstock.
Sept of 2009 marked a major era of what the Jewish calendar calls the Ayin Season.
There are shifts occurring in the atmosphere. We will be given new vision or open doors that were not there before. God will give us the ability to see above that which we have not seen before.
What have we experienced over the last 12 months? A barrage of corruption gone wrong.
IRS oversight scandal
NSA spy scandal
Associated press investigation: James Rosen
ATF Fast and Furious
GSA scandal of abusing $823,000 of tax payer funds
War on Christmas
(To name a few)
Do you think these fraudulent and dishonest accounts came to light all by themselves?
And what about the men who died in Benghazi? Or Fast and Furious?
As the devil turns up the heat, God is pouring on loads of Holy Spirit fire to stamp him out.
Psalm 34: 15 “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.”
The shift is almost tangible. The air is filled with a new kind of warfare; a battle of supernatural proportions with the “Commander” (Isaiah 55:4) of all humanity leading the way.
According to this Jewish era, this season will bring with it a fresh guidance from God. He will mark the ground before us with his own steps. He will release power unknown before by bringing his people to doors of opportunity.
We will come to closed doors of our faith, health or strength only to be told to open it. On the other side will be strength, might and authority unleashed upon those who follow the “Power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1: 24)
Could it be the “Rewarder” of the faithful has heard our cries? (Hebrews 11: 6)
Could it be the “Spirit of Truth” (John 14:1, 15:26, 16:13) is blowing a wind so forceful people will be knocked over by the love of God!

Years ago I remember watching “The Chronicles of Narnia” with my daughter.
Her young enthusiasm for the “Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” brought out her talent of art and imagination.
She could rattle off and draw every actor, character or whatever the strange and whimsical animals C. S. Lewis made up.
How interesting I thought one could open the doors to a wardrobe and enter a mythical magical forest. The intrigue continues into the land of good and evil; only to be stuck in winter by the White Witch. For 100 years she reigned in Narnia until the great Lion, Aslan appears on the scene as her worst enemy.
Yes; it is a parallel of God himself with a twist.
Narnia was supposed to be a place of love, contentment, peace and a whole lot of fun. At least that was the original plan.
Reflecting on the story in many ways we in this present world are now living in Narnia with the wicked White Witch.
The place God intended for good has been beaten up, lied to and given over to sinful ugly creatures.
However, for the wicked white witch, Aslan, the good King of the Forest appears ready to take back his kingdom. She believes she will fight to win only she didn’t count on the weapons used to stop her.
Besides the full armor required, is the heart of Aslan.
A heart full of love, mercy, grace and forgiveness.
Wisdom and knowledge so profound it can’t be matched.
Understanding, compassion and healing that cannot be found anywhere else.
A sacrifice so pure nothing at all can ever take its place.
There really is that place; a hidden wardrobe only known to the individual heart and God. No authority on earth will ever be able to find this dwelling between the Father and his child. Just as finding Narnia, seeking his presence daily is the only way to enter and abide in the shelter of the Most High God.
The shadow of the savior rests in that place covering the fears, doubts worries and stresses of the attacks of the wicked witch. If they creep in then it is due to venturing out of that safe security.
Reach for Jesus again; crawl back in under his wings of protection. And stay. Rest.
Remain in Him.
Peace that passes all understanding is worth striving for.
So is balance. The two have a connection. Balance can give peace and peace can give balance.
Countries have fought throughout history for peace. Interpretation could mean people learning how to get along with each other.
Well, we know how that doesn’t work.
Why? We have lost our way.
We have moved away from that which is peace.
We have replaced it with “self.” Self centers on self which forgets others resulting in greed which is a basis for pride. Pride goes before the fall.
Peace can only be found through Christ. Step-by-step we have to rid ourselves of self as it is the only way to truly see Jesus. This is done by getting closer to God, reading his word and asking him to help us become more like Jesus.
On the other side of spiritual peace is the need for physical serenity. Our bodies react to all kinds of positive or negative feedback. The key is to balance them both.
Yea, I know… I hear you screaming, “how can I possibly be peaceful in this messed up, mucked up world?”
You have to search for it. Yearn for it. Seek it with all your heart. You may as well start now because the world isn’t peaceful at all. But you can be with God’s help.
Jeremiah 29: 12-14 “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.”
The following video caught my attention last night. As I watched it, I could feel my body and mind relaxing as she performs one of the most impossible acts of balance I have ever seen. It is a little over 7 minutes long, but she will keep you glued right up to the very end. After watching her, I questioned whether this performance is more physical or mental. What do you think?
How I wish it were so. Instead are the sounds of rolling waves, back and forth, back and forth. The ballad is far from a serenade of a nightingale.
This sad effort is of the one who has spoken debilitating thoughts to prevail my yearnings for the truth. This nave or monster roars as if he is the ocean with an alias name wishing to dwell in the depths of ear canals. It shall not be so.
This is a priority. What you hear, listen to or puncture your heart with seals your existence.
The good news is once you hear the songwriter’s articulate whispers the meddling voice of that dastardly beast becomes a no-brainer to listen to.
His tone is confident and understanding. He yields an intimate breath of life into yours with words of knowledge and wisdom. The presence of quiet is his solemn oath of peace. What he speaks is genuine, faithful and eternal.
Yes, it lasts forever.
Once you have met the great “I AM” everything changes. You want to go to war for him. You want to fight with passion for others to be unveiled as you were. Sharing HIM is all that matters.
Your personal aspirations to avoid sinister alignment of any kind become a sparring match for a “war horse.” As you dwell in the shelter of the Most High he becomes your fortress against the villains’ darkness. Slowly, but surely you will rest in the shadows of the Almighty waiting and longing to hear his voice only.
Knowing his voice so clearly, you wonder how you missed it from the start.
If he is here now, where was he then?
Oh, but you see He isn’t the one who was lost. He stood beside you, behind you, attempted to block your way from the entrance to corruption.
It wasn’t until you allowed him to stop you, his voice became prevalent; a virtual sound of clarity and hope.
His words are his presence in the form of love. Like pearls, his languages of truth are secrets to his Kingdom.
So, the yodeling crooner is now a far off distant memory.
And the Minstrel of Heaven is the only melody playing in my Head.
