The Weeping of America

Discussions are circulating the Christian theocracy God is judging America.

The world is coming to an end! Sure, we all know that.

God is angry with us! Be glad I am not God.

Signs of the end times are showing up in attitudes, weather patterns, wars and rumors of wars, lawlessness, government fallout; the list goes on and on. But Paul was speaking of the end times 2000 years ago. It just means we are closer now.

America has been ravaged with immense storms of destruction from hurricanes to tornado’s to unusual amounts of snow and floods. Seismologists are waiting for the big one to open up the earth. And who gets blamed for all this annihilation and wreckage?

You got it; God Almighty.

The grievance continues with those who voice the phrase, “Well, it is an act of God.” What is an act of God? Hurricanes that ravage the land and homes or tornadoes that wipe out whole cities in a matter of seconds?

Or was it or is it God’s judgment?

The question arises then if God isn’t bringing all this destruction and carnage then who or what is?

Before I jump on the bandwagon of “conspiracy theories” or one more theological debate, let me defend the point I am about to make.

Years of study, prayer and getting in the presence of God always gave me a sick hesitation of believing God brings judgment on us. If God is incapable of evil, which it says in 1Timothy 4:4 “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving” then he can’t be responsible for what is thought to be “Acts of God.”

Knowing Jesus is pure, peace-loving, submissive, considerate, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere and SINLESS how can he commit even one act of villainous behavior?  (James 3:17-18) or why would he want to?

The truth is we the people are our own judgment.

When people kick God out of schools, government, church, etc. he leaves.

God removes himself when we push him away or make it clear we don’t want him around; hence, judgment occurs. Satan shows up; inhabits that space and begins his torture of mankind.

Hell” is when a person loses all connection with God and hell is destruction. As we kick God out, his hand of protection is lifted. And we wonder why there are so many natural disasters, killings and murders on the rise in this country.

For the sincere followers of Christ or those who turn from their evil ways, God has throughout history placed his hand of protection on his people right smack-dab in the middle of hell.  Examples are:

The Israelites as God rescued them from Egypt

The Walls of Jericho came tumblin’ down

Rahab, the Prostitute was saved from the destruction of Jericho for her act of kindness to the Jewish spies

The fiery furnace of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

Daniel and the Lion’s Den

Etc. etc. etc.

Psalm 91:15 “He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.”
The above verse says God will be with us in trouble not that we won’t have trouble; we live in a fallen world.

The truth is as I have researched it and the God that I know is that he simply leaves us alone.  We suffer the consequences of our own sin resulting in judgment.

We have no one to blame but ourselves for the havoc and deterioration of America.

If you are smart, you will start getting real close to God, about right now.

  1. it breaks my heart to see what I know is happening and for what is to come for all unbelievers

  2. Our problems in America are because God honors His word. Hopefully, we will do the same.

    Good message to today’s America.

    • Wonder what people would do if God didn’t keep his promises? In all my years on this earth I have never known people to break promises as they do now.

  3. well written……so true! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Reblogged this on plantingpotatoes and commented:
I would like to share this post with you today…..

  5. America and Australia too, Naphtali. And the Uk and Western Europe and…oh heck, the whole world is in trouble. Yes, we need to start getting real close to God.

    • Deborah, thank you for reminding me that the US isn’t the only one so messed up! On some level of sanity that makes me feel better! But we need Jesus!

  6. I love your take on this, and I believe it defines our God’s attributes and actions well. He warns… and warns… and warns. We simply reap what we sow. In union with that thought, we live in a broken world, broken by sin. What we see happening around us is the result of that brokenness. It should point our eyes to the CROSS, where the effect of sin was defeated. It’s why we have to be a gospel-minded people, because Jesus is the only answer. Great words friend… many blessings!

  7. Thank you for speaking the Truth. With all the evil swirling around us, it is so important to pray for eyes to be opened and hearts and souls converted. Only God can save us and fill us with the strength to stand up against the deceit and evil. Blessings to you!

    • Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. God has laid it on my heart to tell the truth which has been overrun by so much deceit. I have lost friends and family for doing so, but I would rather be in the boat alone with Jesus, than out of the boat without him. God bless!

      • Yes, I understand the friends and family thing very well. Like you, I choose to align myself with Jesus. So many people are so concerned with planning their lives, climbing the ladder, and entertaining themselves, that they forget that those things are temporary. Our lives on earth are just a speck…compared to an eternity with or without God. So sad for those who choose an eternity without Him. In the meantime, I try to live in His Light and pray for unbelievers.
