Ineptocracy

In the wake of two tragic weeks, the onset of bewilderment has set in.

In Waco, Texas another horror story.  Overwhelming is an understatement of emotional roller coasters we play in our heads. When will this stop?

Words such as these, “Nothing will bring us down. Nothing” may sound optimistic, hopeful and strong, but unfortunately they aren’t true.

For many years the “pride agenda” has grown.  More pride is not the answer. Quite the opposite.

What needs to be said, or prayed is “Father, in Jesus name. Please forgive us. We ask you to come back to America and lay your hand of protection on us once again.”

The idea Americans are unshakeable or indestructible is propaganda; a falsehood born out of an independent but unattainable belief.

We can do nothing without God, but Americans have tried over and over to do so.

Why does America think it is different from any other country?

Where do we get off believing we are special?

God is no respecter of persons which means Americans are judged the same as anyone else.

America has become a “Mutual Admiration Society” of its own.  We have not built Golden Calves, we are the Golden Calves. And we all know what happened to those.

The new America.

  1. Interesting thoughts, Cathy. It is clear to me that this is a “new” America. Its values and foundations have shifted, and sadly they have shifted away from God. As you rightly point out, He is the One who raises up or brings down nations and we ignore him to our peril. I understand the “American spirit” and the natural patriotic impulse that we feel after events like these, and I also remind myself often that there are many, many of God’s people still living in and influencing this country. I pray that those of us who know Him will step it up, live well, love well and pray like we have never prayed before. A blessed Saturday to you, Cathy!

    • Judy, thank you and I agree. Prayer is so desperately needed and now. This is just my thinking but I believe God is allowing it to get to a boiling point of misery for the US so he can burst onto the scene in such a mighty and majestic way, people will be immediately changed. The hearts of America must change towards the cross of repentance. If it breaks are hearts, I can only imagine how God must feel. I realize this young man, the bombing terrorist is or has been infiltrated with who knows what kind of evil; but he needs our prayers that he might find the God of Israel and the Jesus who wants to save him. He is so young and hopefully God will intervene on his behalf.

  2. My prayers for America have changed over the years until now I pray: “Lord, I pray that Your divine plans and redemptive purposes are fulfilled in America.”

  3. Thank you so much for the message.

  4. All your posts are so right on! And this one is no exception.
    Many blessings,
    Tricia
