God is really doing something here. Reading this by John Paul Jackson after posting my latest blog it answers exactly what I have been getting at. Did God create evil? The answer is on this page.

The Obedient Heart

Written by John Paul Jackson

The Obedient Heart

Did God create evil?

If God is thoroughly good and there is no “bad” in Him, why did He create the angel Lucifer, who later became Satan? Some people look at this equation of good versus evil and conclude Satan must not actually exist, because an all-perfect, completely good God could not have created evil. Have you ever considered this before? What was your conclusion?

My conclusion is that evil was not created. It is the darkest form of the absence of God. Just as darkness is the absence of light, sin (evil) is the absence of God.

If evil were a created substance, like a rock or a plant, then yes—I couldn’t imagine there being a devil because God could not create evil. But evil is not created; it is the absence of God.

If we refuse to do what God wants, evil begins to show its face in our lives. This is a case of simple cause and effect. The closer we are to God, the more we look like Him. The further we are from God, the less we look like Him and the more at home we are with darkness.

Sin and Its Effects on the Earth

Solomon wrote in Psalm 127:1:

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

God is our protector. We need Him. His hand guides us, disciplines us, protects us, draws us closer to Him and comforts us when we are hurting. When God lifts His hand because we have turned away from Him to serve another god (such as money, power, etc.), we suffer. Every time we yield to temptation, we are obeying Satan. This is exactly what Adam and Eve did. Satan became their god, and God the Father then withdrew His presence from them. The absence of God is painful, and we can see the results of sin everywhere we look, including the earth itself.

Sin disrupts the created order. Disorder causes something not to function as it is intended to function.

For example, plates in the earth that were created to work in harmony now struggle against one another in disunity, and they cause earthquakes, tidal waves, tsunamis and volcanic activity. Jet streams shift and begin to flow where they weren’t flowing before; there are changes in weather patterns.

Sin causes the earth to become a much more dangerous place because it was created to operate in harmony with God. The same is true with our personal lives. Sin causes us to be dangerous beings because we become self-focused. When the enemy has room to attack, he certainly will, and he does so in a multitude of areas.

The Power of Obedience

If sin draws us away from God and His protection, what draws us closer to God? Our obedience.

Many of us talk about wanting to be like Jesus. If we really do want that, obedience is the place to start—because it is the place where Jesus started. We will never be closer to God than the degree of our obedience:

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. ~ Philippians 2:8

The truth is, we cannot become like Jesus without an obedient heart.

Jesus told His disciples, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). He did not say this in an attempt to manipulate them into doing what He wanted, nor did He intend it as a threat. Again, it is simple cause and effect. The heart of obedience and submission is the heart of a friend — someone who loves deeply and is deeply loved. God’s commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). His “yoke” is easy, and His burden is light. He gives us rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28–30).

As we spend time with God and truly begin to know Him, the enemy loses the “space” that allowed him to attack us before. Every time we say, “Yes,” to God, we come that much closer to Him. He molds us into His image. He purifies us. We feel His hope even in the deep, hidden parts of our souls. His light increases in our lives, and the shame and desperation of the world are driven away.

If you’d like to learn more about how the earth is affected by sin, John Paul has a 4 CD teaching entitled Matters of the Earth, that explains how the earth responds to both sin (negative) and righteousness (positive). For an in depth teaching on the power of an obedient lifestyle, check out Preparing for your Visitation 3 CD Set. Both teachings are available on CD or MP3 download.

Try God: Where does the enemy live and why did he fall? (Part 2)

Does the enemy live somewhere in the deep, depths of the center of the earth? Is he chained to some wall in a dungeon under the Bermuda Triangle moaning and groaning?

Believing this myself for many years, there was always a hesitation.   16274_10151503607461718_1811975431_n

2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

Maybe it’s me but if you “cast down” it has to be done from the top down. Other scriptures that account for this are: Ezekiel 28:8, Rev. 12: 4.

The Apostle Paul speaks of a 3rd Heaven in 2 Corinthians 12: 2 as does the book of Revelation. If there is a 3rd Heaven, there must be a 1st and 2nd also. According to Mel Bond in his research the 1st heaven is the atmosphere we breathe and where Satan and his demons abide. The 2nd Heaven are the stars, planets, moon and/or galaxies. The 3rd Heaven is where God is as Paul spoke about going there.

In Revelation it speaks of how the 1st heaven will be demolished.

Read Ezekiel 28. The chapter describes an individual who was the Prince of Tyrus; a supernatural being wiser than Daniel, and secrets could not be hidden from him. The being thinks he is a “god” but according to the Almighty God he is just a man who will be slain by ruthless nations, thrown into the “pit” beneath the seas and die a violent death. Hence the Lake of Fire.

Now before you go “whoopin’ and a hollerin’ about how this could be, please be patient. There are many versions or “conspiracy theories” about the “heavenlies.” In another blog-post I will go into further detail of how satan became the Prince of Tyrus and how he came to be the devil himself to start with.quote-BethMoore-1

So why did he fall?

How did evil begin?

Ezekiel 28: 4-5 the Sovereign Lord described him as wise and understanding; one who amassed great wealth in gold and silver. God continues beginning in verse 11 explaining to him he was a model of perfection, adorned by every precious stone while in Eden with settings of gold. He was anointed a guardian cherub until evil was found in him. God expelled him to earth in response to his love of himself.

Verse 7: “Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.”

Originally God had created him “perfect in his ways” until pride stepped in. He uses pride today as a main attack with people. His pride made him fall.

God created Adam and Eve. Since then every human has been born. Satan was created by God to be a Prince; a spiritual being anointed by God as an angelic cherub. (Verse 14) This was a particular order of angels created with musical genius within them. Instruments like the “tabret” or a type of tambourine and pipes came from him. It has been thought at one time he was one of the main worship leaders in heaven.

Once I read he had been anointed a cherub with musical gifting, the thought immediately entered my mind how he is influencing secular music today. It makes sense when you have groups who play and sing evil lyrics, dress like they came straight from the “shop of hell” and are named Marilyn Manson. The music industry is fueled by satanic hate of God mixed with drugs, alcohol and immorality gone completely wild.

I have never read a Rolling Stone magazine but while in college I heard about the words David Bowie spoke about Rock Music. In the February issue of 1976 he said:

“Rock has always been THE DEVIL‘S MUSIC . . . I believe rock and roll is dangerous . . . I feel we’re only heralding SOMETHING EVEN DARKER THAN OURSELVES.”

The shock of his words sent shivers in the music industry; of course no one believed him.

Try God: Identifying the Enemy (Part 1)

For the first time since I started blogging 2 years ago, God has led me to do a series.

Years of reading the Bible, study and prayer have literally transformed me. I am not at all where I want to be, but left where I was. The amount of wisdom and knowledge God has is infinite. Just when you think you have finished college and there is very little left to learn, the galaxy opens a door you missed.

Christian television has been smeared with scandals, fraud and fallen preachers. However it is one avenue of God’s vision the enemy detests. Even with fallen men or women of God, they are and can be used to bring people to the cross. If it were not so, the Bible could not have been written. The list begins in Genesis and ends in Revelation of followers of God who failed and failed miserably. Adam and Eve blew it from the start. Moses killed a man. David and Solomon had a common sin of lust. Peter denied Christ 3 times after getting to know him. Paul, well Paul was the worst hypocrite as a Pharisee yet believed the Laws of God if broken commanded one to be shackled and beaten. This in no way diminished the fact the laws they wrote (man-made) could not be followed. It was impossible.

Surfing TV not long ago I saw a man, Mel Bond who I had never heard of. He was on a Christian show speaking of how to discern spirits. Watching I was enthralled by every word he spoke. Afterwards I ordered 3 of his books; one of which I just finished because I couldn’t put it down and the Holy Spirit prompted me to finish it. The name of the book is “Understanding Your Worst Enemy.”253028_10151504703081718_1456976426_n

The urgency in which this has occurred, is because God wants his people to understand why the world is in the heated mess it is in. His other reason is because we are in the midst of the enemies wrath; his time is running short and he knows it. Therefore he is taking his hate of anyone who follows Jesus out on those who are getting “too close to God.” Why?

Satan is afraid of anyone who knows and uses the Word of God. Hell is terrified of it. The weakest Christian can defeat Satan with the Word of God.

Yet we have fallen for every fear, worry or doubt he throws our way, we have run with it giving him another edge to making us miserable and remaining there.

He can get into our thoughts giving us one lie after another.

He keeps tabs on those who follow Jesus so he will know how to attack them.

He repeats his attacks over and over because we haven’t stopped him.

He is cunning, sly and devious. Subtlety is his measure of entrance. The area he is most dangerous is blinding people to the truth.  Many today even Christians do not believe he exists; and that is exactly what he wants.

He is capable of creating evil and chaos. He perverts the truth, and uses the same tricks on us that caused him to fall.

He is very real and is on the warpath.  Do not for one minute believe otherwise. He is not playing games.

But we have authority over him with the Word of God. James 4:7 “Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Learning years ago how blind I was, my determination became to remove the blinders off of my eyes and heart.  As I have studied the Bible and often been beaten down by some of my closest friends and relatives for speaking the truth I have become more and more aware of his fiery darts.  He has blinded people I never thought were blinded.

Satan hates the truth of God which is why it is more important than ever that we know God’s truth and use it.

As I continue in this series I ask that you read another series by my good friend and blogger Larry Who. His latest work on “Spiritual Warfare” actually added to my inquiry into how to authoritatively tell Satan to get lost. If you are like me, you want him out of your life. After you read Larry’s blogs, get this book.    http://larrywho.wordpress.com/

One note about this book before I get to the next part of this series. After I began reading “Understanding your Worst Enemy” I looked up to see when Mel Bond had written it. The copyright was 1992.  I thought he wrote it yesterday.

1 Peter 1: 3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.”

Don’t Rain on my Parade

The prevalence today that God doesn’t care about people is simply a false thought or statement. He is near and very interested in every detail of our lives.

The closer one gets to know God, the more he involves us in his. As I wrote before he tells me when certain pieces of mail are about to arrive. He also reminds me of important issues that need attention.

This April will be my tenth wedding anniversary to my husband Mark. Much has happened during these years from his loss of a job he thought he would have for the rest of his life and the fact we had to move and completely start over.  We have already spent a lifetime of going through a great deal of heartache and pain but through it all, God has been one step ahead of us.

Rarely these days do I spend money on myself; and I am not saying that out of a martyred heart. There are much more important issues to use God’s money for.

When Mark and I got engaged 11 years ago, his dear father rushed to bring to me his first wife’s diamond ring. She passed away in 1999 so I never knew her.

He was so happy I was marrying his son he wanted me to have her ring.  Not sure if he wanted me to straighten Mark out but if he did I am still working on that one.

His approval humbled me as he is a very admired and respected retired Professor and Doctor of Music.

We took the ring and had the diamond redesigned into a new setting.  Inexpensively we added two small emeralds placed on each side of the diamond. It served me well.

For the last 2 years the thought kept running through my mind I wanted to change it; a tenth anniversary says we are supposed to do that! LOL! I continued to put if off but periodically the nudge to take it to a jeweler crept up on me but life was hectic so I ignored it. Or ignored the Holy Spirit.

It just so happens a member and Deacon of our church who we both know is a 15 year Graduate Jeweler Gemologist, JA Certified Senior Bench Jeweler and Accredited Quartz Watch Technician with the American Horological Institute. Tim Hipkins works for a prestigious Jeweler here in our town.

My upgraded ring

My upgraded ring

A few weeks ago, the nudge became almost a hit on my head. “Take the ring to Tim.”  OK!

Little did I know the setting was falling apart.  One of the emeralds was cracked in the middle, and the prongs holding the diamond were loose. As Tim gave me this news, I thanked God the diamond had never fallen out.  He told me he couldn’t believe I had had the ring for 10 years and it was still all in one piece.

Tim and I began discussing what could be done to upgrade. As he drew me a picture of what he envisioned, I was shocked. It was exactly as I had envisioned it myself.   Talk about knowing God had a plan, this was it.

Today, I have a beautiful ring fit for my small fingers custom designed by a pro.  Tim said this should last me for the next 25 years as long as I have him check it!

When God sheds his light on what he wants us to do, he provides all that is needed.  The matter of living within his will makes all the difference in our abundance or the lack thereof. We both know as hard as it was moving here, we are definitely in the center of his will.

The clarification is an inner peace; a “knowing” you are placed by God for his purposes.

Abraham knew what it felt like to have to leave his family, friends and a familiar lifestyle. God told him to go to a land he didn’t know existed; we did the same thing.

Genesis 12:1 “The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.”

Sometimes life throws rocks on our parade. Other times you feel a great big push.

God is not sitting on his “Throne of Grace” eating chips and dip with an ice, cold Coca Cola in his hands.

He is the one throwing the rocks.coca cola

He is shoving us in the direction he wants us to go.

If you don’t have a “reigning ear” you better move out of the way.

He might hit someone else who is listening and bless them with what he planned to give to you.

The 2nd Day

idiot

A wise person once told me, “When a person(s) start losing that which is important to them, they become mean.”

America has become a mean nation.

50 some years ago we kicked God out of our schools which began a “ripple” effect to public venues and wherever the atheists/agnostics pursue a removal of anything Christian.

The list of losses from jobs, to homes and vacations to raising taxes, mandating affordable health care that isn’t affordable is grieving our pocketbooks. Don’t get me started on “the pain at the pump.”

Wickedness has spread like wildfire into wasteful spending, abortion, gay rights and a generation of uneducated youth. Crime and violence is rampant setting the stage for a fight for the 2nd Amendment.

Take away a person’s right to bear arms in their own defense is like telling the cat to stop chasing that mouse.  Take away the hole in the wall the mouse is used to running into and he has no defense from a furry, predatory feline.

The cat will instinctively chase the mouse who will instinctively run and hide. You could stand there all day long fussing and fuming at the cat for chasing the mouse and it would do no good. The cat will just think you are stupid.

When it gets down to the nitty-gritty what we think we are losing is not the center of our personalities fuming.

It is the plight of our hearts; the mood and position we have established within us.

Our greed is destroying us. Keeping up with the Kardashians isn’t sensible much less important.

The outer skin is revealing how deep the cuts are.

I had a conversation with someone who works directly with customers. A common thread are those who approach them with an attitude of hate, critical mindedness and frustration. Unfortunately, this worker gets the brunt of their ravaged plunder. Taking out their prejudicial trash on an hourly worker is cowardly at best. Knowing this worker had nothing to do with this defiled wreck of a human, the animosity and antagonism was uncalled for and wrong.

This atmospheric condition looming over our nation is a disconnect from the Cross of Christ.

The cover of the April 8, 1966 edition of Time magazine asked the question “Is God Dead?

Many believed this as the Atheist movement began to take off. Our nation defaulted into ungodliness, immorality and all things unsacred.

As a result we laughed and mocked him as he wearily carried his cross up that hill.

The crown of thorns was pushed deeper into his skull while his friends cried “He is the King of the Jews.”

Others pounded more nails into his hands and feet instead of removing them.

The card players rolled the dice to win his soiled robe as he hung bleeding and bruised.

Crucifying him over and over we wonder why we are stuck on the 2nd day.

In between the 1st and 3rd day left us in the depths of the grave promoting death instead of life.

While the antics of evil captured the souls of America, he arose in glowing fashion spreading peace, love and joy.

Resurrecting the truth, he really was the “King of the Jews.”

He is very much alive, waiting for the world to acknowledge his presence.

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the 3rd day.

Mark 16:6 And he said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.”

You Can’t Run Away from Yourself

No matter what you do, running away from your mistakes or bad choices will always come back to haunt you. Doesn’t matter who you are, or your position. We are all responsible for our actions and words.

So, what does this mean?

Be careful. Do what is right? Understand your actions, decisions and choices affect more than just you. They affect everyone around you.

Funny thing about making mistakes; once done they stick around. Not all show up immediately with their shadowy consequences. Years later may be the end result.

The truth of these chain reactions is often they produce a can of worms.

In our modern media, if you have any political position or stage appearance, getting away with the repercussions of statements made in the past are feverishly played over and over. Just ask the President.

Backtracking on the “sequester” now imposed is hitting hard. The possibility of major financial cuts in government programs are waiting in the wings of the White House.thCAB99ZMY

A few of the cuts looming are:

Thousands of federal jobs may be furloughed

Meals on Wheels will have less food to feed Senior Citizens

70,000 children kicked out of Head Start

Fewer food inspections

Research grants would be cut by 1000

13% from Defense which shouldn’t be cut at all. The military should be built back up. The Bible says if a government taxes its people, then they are responsible for protecting the people with a strong military. DO NOT CUT THE MILITARY!

Diminishing EPA monitoring of hazardous waste, pollution and oil spills

Having first proposed and demanded the sequester, it would make sense that the president lead the effort to replace it,” Boehner wrote in Wall Street Journal.

In other words the President originally thought this was a good idea. He has changed his mind and blaming the Republicans once again if nothing is done to stop it. Why?

Many who elected him would be out of a job. (Did I miss something or did he just play golf with Tiger Woods?  Somehow that doesn’t fit.)

The very people he promised to help would suffer.

It would make him look bad.

However, many of the Federal jobs and programs soaking the taxpayer’s money need to be restructured, changed or done away with completely.

What is wrong with getting rid of the fraud and waste? Why hasn’t this been an annual event? Think of how much money could be saved by weeding out the hogwash and debris?

Does the White House take the garbage out every day?

So this is one of the numerous times the President spoke to soon.  He made the “call” long before he knew the consequences of such a “sequester.”thCAKULPMQ

Proverbs 13: 3 “He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.”

The President received tax revenue he pursued vigorously. Now, we receive less each month due to his tax hikes. Congress agreed to his “slap on our personal income” in exchange for cuts.  Who knows if or when the President will decide to cut anything?

He can’t be trusted to keep that promise as he has broken so many so “let the mayhem begin.” (James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies, 1997)

Navigating

Navigating my way through Windows 8 has been fun. But, then after Vista who knew?

What a difference a day makes when you have a new toy. And once again “you don’t know what you have until you get it” applies here.

You get to throw “tiles” around, or throw them away. Tiles are the same as icons were on a regular Desktop which BTW is included here. It isn’t like you must donate your Desktop, lose it altogether or remove it from your life forever. Windows 8 decided many of us couldn’t part with it and it uses Windows 7. 2 for 1 deal. Some are attached to their “desktop” so Microsoft was empathetic enough to include it in Windows 8.

Icons were nice but “tiles” can be swiped up, down, and all around. Small or large you have your pick. If you don’t like a specific tile you can remove it all together. It’s not like everyone will need them all; we have our choices.

For instance, I will never use the “shredder” because you have to buy it. Uninstall comes with each tile. If they don’t fit the “interface” which is the new word for the front page, continue to swipe to the right and the list goes on and on of apps for “ebay” or “Britannica” or just about anything you want. Using the old encyclopedia seems ancient; it isn’t google. Many days were spent in the public library before google appeared on the scene and changed our lives completely.start-screen-windows-8_1920x1080_594-hd

The “kinks” are there; some still need adjusting but overall I am pleased with the performance. Maybe it is more that I don’t know how it all works yet but until I do I will blame the “kinks” on Windows 8. Or whoever designed it.

There are good reasons when mechanical or technological equipment fail. You get to buy a new one! And I must say that this one went through a lot before I got it. I found out the hard way Staples, the store and staples.com are two different companies…..but as God’s favor would have it, they cut the price for me due to their “sorry” customer service and an invasion of my privacy.

The good woman from staples.com began an inquiry into my personal life that backfired.

Yes, once again the attacks have risen to new heights. As our appliances, phones, TV’s and now laptops usually come with an array of problematic issues, God always works it out for my good.

As these repetitious attacks continue, I have learned to keep my cool, and play it out. It also tells me the enemy is running out of fuel.
And one more indulgence God graced me with this week is really funny.

Our Dish TV statement arrived only to reveal a $6.00 increase from last month’s bill. Reviewing the two there was no explanation for this rise in cost. So….I called.

Speaking with a girl from somewhere near Boston due to her accent, I made it clear I was not happy about this $6.00 increase. Her explanation was the programming were charging them more so they had to pass this extra charge to the customers.

“What?” I don’t think so.

Her solution: the next 10 months my bill would be $6.00 less.

Who says God doesn’t want us to prosper, even if it is one dollar at a time.

Philippians 4:19 “And my God shall supply all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
