Not Only are we Chained, they are Backwards and Upside Down

Break the chains. Allow God to break your chains. Not only are we chained to so many evils they have begun to get twisted, turned around, backwards and upside down.

We have chained ourselves to walls of bad habits and lifestyles so much the walls of Jericho won’t fall down.

Habits such as “oh don’t worry, just charge it.” (Right, another credit card! Great answer!)

“We don’t have a budget.” ( I guess not since you charge everything.)

“Why should I have to budget my money. The government doesn’t.” (whoops!)

“Who cares if you live with someone outside of marriage? It’s just a piece of paper.” (Great idea..when the going gets tough you can walk out the door with no accountability.)

“Why work when I can live off of you?”(Oh! You must be a member of a Union?)

“I can’t seem to drop this habit of smoking even though I know it is bad for me.” (duh…)

“Let’s go party. There will be girls, booze and weed. We won’t get caught.” (Yeah, right. Neither did John Edwards.)

“Me? I don’t go to church. I don’t need God.”( Sure you don’t. There’s always that other guy…Satan?”

“That new vampire movie that just came out, let’s go see it. It’s just a movie.” (Sorry….it’s not just a movie. It is demonic in nature.)

Along the way of the “Summer of Love” in 1967 (http://larrywho.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/why-california-why-san-francisco-why-now-part-3/ ) the infamous “Woodstock” in 1969, and the third wave of the feminist movement in the early 1990’s we took a detour and ended up in a landfill.

Guess what folks? God is moving. God is working unraveling the chains of illiterate vices and habits of depraved behavior.

He may be behind the scenes but in my view I see him as clear as day. Desperation has hit the peaks of those who sang at Woodstock or crudely treated our soldiers when they came home from war. Fear of losing what they thought they had gained is rampantly unfolding before their eyes. The mockery of that which is right in the eyes of God is flying backwards in the faces of the enemy’s attendants.

God has allowed the chains tied to those who ignore him, reject him and thrust him aside to get caught in a web of deceit they created themselves.

If you think for one minute you are fooling yourself into getting away with anything ungodly, think again. Given enough chain you will wrap it around your amoral lifestyle and habits until it constricts so much you can’t breathe.

God is good in that he will allow us to keep our chains as long as we want them. Or as long as you can stand the choking. Or until you get caught?

Volunteering to remove our chains of fiendish plots, self-destruction or lack of accountability is so much easier than getting to the point of desperation you beg God to do it. Only there has been very little volunteering.

We reap that which we sow while God watches and waits for the call from the police station.
