“I will contend with those who contend with you.” Isaiah 49:25.

I watched the President speaking on the issue of contraception and the church view on it. Specifically Catholics.

Let me clarify I am not Catholic and do not necessarily agree with everything they teach. However they are our fellow Christians and I value them in the body of Christ . I do believe as they, our religious freedoms are being attacked by our own government.

Anyone smart enough would never take on the Catholics.

After listening to President Obama, I wanted to hear what the  President of the Catholic LeagueBill Donohue had to say in his interview on FOX. He is more than fired up over this supposed change in policy. He is not only angry, he is insulted that the Obama administration would try to cover up their lies, and now change the plan which Mr. Donohue says is to get the tax payers to pay for this contraception which can lead to other medical treatments Catholics don’t agree on.

The League he says, has been inundated with support from Jews, Mormons and many others who are outraged by this latest ploy to attack our religious liberty. In an almost threatening tone, Mr. Donahue said at the end of the interview, “President Obama will pay.”

Interestingly enough is the President himself said, “most churches could probably do much better than the government any day in offering services.’ What? Did that really come out of his mouth?

If so, then why doesn’t he stop imposing government rules and mandates and let God take care of it?

This is the 2nd speech in 2 weeks the President declared himself a Christian. I am not one to judge, bargain or decide that for anyone. That is between him and God but if that is his stance, let’s see how it fits in with the Bible.

John 8: 31-32 ” Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

A bible from 1859.

Meaning we are to obey God and his word.

I wonder if the President knows God’s word on government mandated healthcare.

Romans 13 explains the role of government in our lives. What I find interesting is verse 8 which says, “Let no debt remain outstanding.”

If that is true how can we pay for healthcare? or welfare? or any other government program when we have an outstanding debt of

$ 1 5 , 3 4 3 , 0 6 1 , 9 3 7 , 0 3 4 . 1 6

If you read Romans 13 you will not find anywhere in that chapter that government is suppose to force healthcare on it’s citizens. We are to help each other as members of the body of Christ. IT IS THE CHURCH’S RESPONSIBILITY NOT THE GOVERNMENT.

The issues arise of health care imposed by the Obama administration that go against Biblical order.  In other words we are not to use our tax dollars to pay for health services that go against the word of God. That right there rules out Obamacare because it is trying to do just that.

There is no where in the Bible that states government is suppose to mandate healthcare and especially if it is broke! Our debt rules that out. God would not advise the government to add more to the debt but to pay it off. Get a balanced budget. Stop spending. And don’t raise taxes; they are already
unreasonable due to overspending and especially wasteful spending!

In masses, we can win this fight against religious freedom, wasteful government and those who wish to diminish the Biblical authority God set in place.

According to Bill Donahue of the Catholic League, legal action is not out of the question.
Folks, I believe this fight is far from over. If we don’t support the church on this issue, what else will be attacked?

  1. In my 7 or 8 years on the internet, I have been in more than one of these discussions with people who stand on the opposite side of your political views on Obamacare, government debt, and Romans 13. I’ll just stand back, watch and say, “You all be careful now, you hear?” 😉

  2. It’s not that I totally disagree with you, but when you infer that a scripture such as Romans 13 backs your opinion about Obamacare, you will eventually have people who will quote scriptures by the pound who will disagree with you.

And they will be very good with their arguments.

For instance, someone might say, “How come Paul did not point out the mistakes Rome made with their welfare system for the Roman colonies?”

You might gulp and say, “What welfare system?”

They will then launch into a history of how Rome provided wheat and olive oil to many of their colonies. They might even label it Caesarcare.

Or they might point out how Hitler used Romans 13 to justify to the German Lutherans why they should agree with all of his policies.

Now, the fun of making statements like, “If you read Romans 13 you will not find anywhere in that chapter that government is suppose to force healthcare on it’s citizens,” is that you will learn quickly how to debate with people who disagree with you.

So, that’s why I said that I would just stand back, watch and say, “You all be careful now, you hear?” 😉

    • On other posts I have already lost 4 friends on facebook that I grew up with who disagreed with me. That is fine.

I have told the truth. If I am wrong then I am sure God will show me. If I am not, others have no excuse because they have been told which I believe is the point God wants us to do even as it attracts persecution and those who live to argue.

The Bible says that we are not to argue or warn people no more than twice about the truth. If they don’t listen, leave them to their fate which is what I did by defriending them.  People who prey on others for their beliefs are called “trolls.” I have had my share of them and found the best way to deal with them is to cut them off.

So far, no one has disagreed with me on this last post.  I have had nothing but agreement Larry except you.

      • My disagreement with your statements about Obamacare and Romans 13 has nothing to do with what I think of you or our friendship. In fact, I believe you have the ability to be a high-powered writer so you better prepare yourself for those who will disagree with you.

      • Larry, thanks so much. Coming from you I am humbled. I do understand and appreciate your advice. In fact for future reference on those who disagree I may ask for your advice on how to handle them or for your opinion from where I am at. My editor as believersbay.com, Tim Russ is the one who told me simply don’t argue with people. I am open to others opinions; they can blog too. You know Larry I didn’t want to blog! God kept bugging me to!

My husband works for the state of SC; he is in College management. They deduct so much from his pay for insurance, social security and medicare and taxes it is upwards of $1,000.00 a month deducted. And seeing ss is probably not going to happen for us.

Our insurance with the state is basically useless. We even opted out of paying for our daughter Sara to have it so she is without. I have had to pay out of our pockets for anytime we go to the doctor because of the deductible. I do believe our insurance companies need to be held accountable for their actions to make it work.

Talking with the head nurse at my doctor’s office just the other day she told me Obamacare is treacherous. The doctors, nurses and office people hate it there. She told me with what is in the bill if we think we are paying a lot now, it is going to get much worse for working Americans. Not to mentions the red tape involved she said. I am all for people having insurance, I just think God has a better plan than what is out there.

  3. Hi Cathy you have made some very good points that we all need to think about, of course being Australian I’m not up to date with your Politics although I do seek knowledge when needed, we also have problems with our Leadership, still we do as God instructs us, if they don’t ask us to accept or do anything against His will, we obey, if they do we stand strongly against it with God’s Truth as you shared with Romans 13:14 if it’s about money we Trust God to provide which He promises as He does the sparrows and He is always faithful to do so … God’s work done God’s way never lacks His supply.

We are to respect the position of those in Government, after all Christians have also put them in power or God would not have allowed them to be, we are His hands, arms, voice and feet and He will give us what we want when we agree together but like King Saul it may not be within His will so we will suffer the consequences, this is why we must follow His guidelines in all things as you shared.

In our Country because of promised funding many Christians voted for a professed Atheist Government and they were elected, but God tells us what does light and darkness have in common and now the Government is promoting very Secular and evil reforms in our Country according to God’s Truth, who do we blame.

God Loves us the way we are but too much to let us stay that way and He doesn’t want us or anyone else to accept our evil flesh Nature or to minimise the mistakes we have made in the past and have no regret so we make them again now or in the future. Of course if we have come to heart repentance we don’t have to bear guilt and shame but we do need to learn from our mistakes, as Paul did, he also claimed at one point that he was not perfected yet but later said he was and we too must aim for this.

  4. Cathy, I wish you all good things, including success. I think it’s very sad that you don’t care about losing friends you grew up with because of political differences. Unless you reconsider that position, I believe you will see your sphere of influence becoming smaller and smaller, and the people you can call on in time of need becoming fewer. And if these people are believers in Jesus, it is all the sadder, because that directly goes against the will of God that we be one, as Jesus and the Father are one. If you really believe you are right, and that this is an issue that God wants you to stand on (take note: those are two different things), I think it would be more productive to consider how you might lovingly win others over to your side than to cut off those who oppose your position. Part of communicating is earning the right to be heard by listening to the views of others.

    • Hi Kathryn, can I just say a few words on behalf of Cathy it was not her who deleted my Comments if that is what you are referring to but perhaps you may not be although others will have read my comment by now so I do need to explain.

It seems someone working for WordPress is deleting my comments, they have done this now on a few Blogs this person has access to Bloggers Dashboards and mine also, and my settings are continually being changed and I have had posts deleted as well. At first I thought it was Cathy and other Blog owners who were deleting them and blocking me as it had happened when I first started Blogging and also with some Bloggers recently I believe this is very rude and disrespectful and they are indeed walking in the flesh not in Christ Jesus but Cathy has always showed me respect even when we haven’t agreed not that I think it should stay that way, I agree with you if we have the mind of Christ we should be thinking in Unity.

Cathy is a good friend she has been very kind to me in the past that is why I was so hurt but I said I’m not sure what or who you were referring to but be assured Cathy is a very Loving caring person.

      Christian Love Anne.
