Did Jesus have a Facebook Page?

Christianity 0ut of the Box

I never claimed to have all the answers, but I found out where they are….

Sometimes I am just plain baffled at people. I am talking to you Christians. How is it that people who have been there and done that seem to know less about being there and done that than those who haven’t?

This frequently happens and just did with me. Months ago I produced information about 2 colleges and their status. One has just announced this week it is cutting back jobs, degrees and departments by 25%. According to the College President who gave an interview with the local TV station Tuesday night, the strain of bad economy was the reason for this necessary conclusion.

A past alumni of my Alma Mater quoted I didn’t know what I was talking about. He disagreed with my reasons for the decline in Christian institutions including this one.

Was he there? Did he live there? Was he employed by this school? Did he walk the campus sidewalks everyday as I did? Did he witness first hand the decay of vicissitude brought on by those who deemed it necessary to open the doors to anyone to be considered tolerant or politically correct? Was he there as the pressure to engage in public policy invaded this Private Christian Institution’s Biblical foundation created decades ago?

No. Not to my knowledge.

I lived there for 17 years. I walked those campus sidewalks. I ate in their dining room. I wondered around the halls of classrooms. I knew many of the staff, Professors and students.  I went to church with them.  I married the Controller of the college who worked there from 1989-2007 until he got the boot. His father, my father-in -law was the Professor of Music there for 13 years until they fired him because of his age.

So how is it that one who has never been there or walked those campus sidewalks can possibly declare my points invalid? Does he think I am lying? Does he believe I really didn’t live there?

The reason? Because his agenda is to prove me wrong even if I am right. Get a life. Or better yet get a new Bible and then you will have a life! lol!

One who constantly has to prove they are right all the time is often times in need of something. I ‘m not sure what but it is exhausting.  I know I am wrong. People tell me I am wrong all the time. That is why I read the Bible. So I can learn.

Please allow me to clarify myself here.

My husband and many of his colleagues saw this coming. I saw it coming. Speaking out about it was lost in translation. Making the effort for needed Christian change was dismissed like a disturbing student.

They were warned by many. Staff members I spoke with years ago told me of this impending doom if changes weren’t put into effect then!  Those in charge refused to listen. Those is charge knew better than what the founding fathers did. Those in charge decided to go along with the crowd instead of the truth according to God‘s word.

The result? Loss for everyone involved.

Lost jobs. Lost benefits. Lost educational degrees. Lost students.

Christian institutions are failing not because of  bad economy, but because they have lost their focus on God. Just as our public schools. Just as our government. It is the same everywhere.

“When you kick God out, he walks away and leaves us to our own fate.”

That my friends is really scary. I know because I walked away and God left me all alone to live with myself. And it was no picnic in the park.

This soul is determined to prove I am wrong because he doesn’t want to face the truth. He doesn’t want to have to change his thinking because it would
require him to change much of his life and risk the ridicule for doing a 180.

I don’t really care if he thinks I am wrong. I am not in this for myself because if I was I would quit! It is no fun sometimes promoting God especially when shoes or worse gets thrown at you. He refused to accept even what the Bible said after I quoted a verse to him and he very slyly replied, “that is the Bible according to your opinion.”

Then read it for yourself!  Allow God to reveal to you what he wants you to know. Heck. I am just trying to be  a middle -aged messenger here so don’t shoot me.

The “easy way out” for me would be to just agree. At least words wouldn’t be flying at me like a bomb blowing up in my face.

But you see I can’t stop trying to tell people to read the Bible. I don’t have the answers, but the Bible does.

Call God. His line is always open. Mine isn’t. Anyway what else does he have to do? He has already saved the world! l0l! (just had to throw that in)
The point here is to show that no matter who you are, what agency you are involved in, where you are employed, your church affiliation, the government,  schools or whatever you claim the answers are in the BIBLE people!

” My opinion is worthless. I don’t claim to have an opinion.

I read the Bible because “I know nothin, I hear nothin, I see nothin without it.”

  1. Most of the earliest colleges founded in America, including Harvard, were based on Christianity. But over a period of time, they tend to walk with the world. Sad, but true.

  2. Amen! I pray my Christian university remains that way. I absolutely love the education I am receiving.

    • Yvette, I hope so. I never dreamed this would happen to my own Alma Mater and my husband’s. I pray God will do something to reverse these long time institutions.

  3. Hi Cathy, I understand what you are saying but if I didn’t believe what I was sharing I wouldn’t bother, of course I’m still learing but I have no doubt what God has shown me is true even if others reject the Scripture that confirms it … why am I so sure, well it has a lot of wordage but perhaps it will explain my focus.

After coming to real heart repentance but because of so much conflicting teaching I felt very unsure about what was Truth and so had doubts. One day as I was reading the Scriptures a verse touched my heart, Mark 9:24 some Christians call this a Rhema Scripture, it said… that a man’s son was in need of healing and Jesus asked him do you believe, the man answered yes I believe but please help my unbelief and so I also asked Jesus to help my unbelief.

Not long after this realizing I was very confused because of the conflicting teaching in the Churches and by Theologians and Evangelists even those who had a high profile and yes they all claimed what they believed was True but what they taught was different which means some of them were trusting in their own worldly understanding or what they had been taught instead of God’s Truth. I knew this to be True because The Holy Spirit does not say one thing to one person and something different to someone else when it contradicts and as I knew we are not to agree to disagree but to take our difference to God and he will show us who is in error because we are to have the same focus and to be of one mind and purpose, it confused me greatly because how could they all have the mind of Christ and also be in conflict which was shown by their division .

I prayed to God for His help again and He gave me another Rhema Scripture James1:5-8 I asked in Faith for God’s wisdom and I have no doubts that I have received it and that it is growing in my heart in knowelage and insight and will continue to do so as He perfects me in His Love to conform me to the image of His Son. What God has shared with me He has confirmed in His written word by His Living Word but as I said before I am still learning but I know without a doubt what God has already shown me His Truth and I don’t doubt it …. Jesus tells us we don’t have because we don’t ask with Faith believing what He says He will do and I found this is very True. Another Rhema Scripture was 1Corinthians 2:9-16 .Why don’t people believe because they don’t ask God as you said.

    • Dear Anne, I understand. The issue comes to those who are so far away from God as they listen to one person and hear something different from another. This leads to questions, hypocrisy and misunderstandings especially when one is challenged in his motive for teaching. It makes those of us like you and me look bad for one to preach the wrong gospel…..and difficult to get the true message of Christ out to the ones who are asking.

For me and I think for most who come to know Christ, it has to be real. There is a change of heart that occurs that you simply cannot ignore and it changes everything in your life. It is alive and active as it says in the Bible. Even my own family doesn’t understand me sometimes.

We are all a work in progress but you my dear friend have come such a long wonderful way! You are such an inspiration and your story is remarkable….I wish you lived next door!

I have been working on the Just Kidding Award; hope to have it done this week. Blessings friend….

      • I would so Love to live close to you Cathy, I’m the only Christian woman in my whole Neighbourhood and they don’t welcome me, I’m odd in their books but when they are in trouble they come to me.

But how wonderful it would be to have a Christian friend close like you, it would bless me greatly and I would have someone to share my cakes and shortbread with over a cuppa who would welcome me and not consider me strange and Ron too, I don’t swear or want to have a drink or a bet but I never criticise them for these, I just don’t join in or do I get in involved with their Halloween, they can’t understand why I don’t want to celebrate Satan.

Thanks for your kind words Christian Love Anne

P.S Please remember there are no rules with the Awards I chose you for, but there may be with others that I post soon.

      • Anne, Our neighbors are good people but we all respect each others privacy. We live amongst Air Force and Army personnel because one of the largest AF bases in the country is about 2 miles from our house. Our friends directly in front of us; a young couple with 2 kids are both in the military. When we first moved here we were closer than now. They are much younger and in the party crowd to some extent; but we still enjoy sharing thoughts on yard work!

I enjoy planting spring flowers and have quite a few of plants and Lou across the street works hard on his yard. We almost have a competition that is fun!

But I do know what it feels like to be the odd one out; just take that as a compliment and who knows what God might do!
