When did everything get so COMPLICATED?

Posted on

Ok. I am beginning to dislike banks intensely. Protesting on the streets is not my idea of getting my way so I will pray. God can certainly do more than a loud mouth bunch of young people who have no idea what they are protesting.

Banking has become a farce. I would rather do like my ancestors and bury money in the yard. At least I would know where it was, what it was doing and who was not touching it.

A fee here, a fee there; they don’t care. Use to be if you needed to stop payment on a lost check it wouldn’t cost you your arm and now legs! Oh, and the paperwork. A pile of red tape cluttering someone’s desk they can’t find.

How do we survive the measure of expectations? What use to be simple is now an act of Congress: and we all know how that doesn’t work.

In other words, the world travels on money.
Simple is cheap. Complicated is expensive.

The air of complications is leaving many a soul weary.

Buying a house or a car these days reveals when you last relieved yourself.

Signing a legal document requires information from your long lost Aunt.

The Privacy Act forces us parents of college students to speak to at least 6 people in the school’s administration to find out if they got my check for the tuition!

Ordering a Credit card through your own bank requires both parties fill out an application longer than the SAT.

Itemizing your taxes requires an Organizer from your accountant. That excludes the accountant’s labor.

Forget insurance. They don’t pay for anything anyway. Why again do I have insurance? Oh, my husband says we need it. If they don’t pay for anything what am I paying them for? OH! Their trip to Hawaii. They must be meeting with the GSA.

I remember the days of old, easy and slow. Yes, I didn’t know how good I had it.

You know what people? God is still on the throne and his movements are the same. He is not making adjustments to his schedule according to ours.

He hasn’t changed his address, phone number or email. He’s always listening for our call or text. He wants it simple. We have muddled the disorder we already had.

American’s for sure don’t know the meaning of rest. We are supposed to work, but God says his rest in between each duty, praying to him will give us simplicity, peace, health and joy.

My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14)

Our entertainment overload is not only costly financially, but adds to time spent away from God.

Maybe that explains why there is so much depression, anxiety, fear and ill-will.

Maybe that explains why the lethargic view of life is running rampant.

Maybe that explains the hopelessness, anger and defeated attitudes.

The decision to keep or get your sanity back may depend on your simplicity or the lack there of. My sanity is rather important to me…..and those around me.

His realm of peace is another atmosphere away from man’s activities. That realm is found in his presence through our day. The self-assured, self –efficient perfectionist knows no such place. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up in a circus of clogged up animation.

Productive, Godly work occurs during times of rest with him. The secret place of his presence is a miracle waiting to happen.

I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

My life is a simple thing that would interest no one. It is a known fact that I was born and that is all that is necessary.Albert Einstein

Maybe old Albert knew a little more than just Physics.

Newsbusters of Jilted Contemplation

Posted on

My weekend was busy so I tried catching up on the news.

Mistake.

Surfing the net the following are hot topics;

Unmarried Jessica Simpson has her baby.

Jilted Dentist extracts teeth of ex-boyfriend.

The Dutch don’t want to sell marijuana to tourists.

And of course the “occupiers” took another day off.

Who could doubt the significance of the above Newsbusters?

The less significant are:

While the “occupiers” took a day off, many were standing in the un-employment lines.

One year ago, Our Navy Seals ended the life of the worst terrorist.

United States Naval Special Warfare Developmen...

United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Mark Zuckerburg comes up with idea to help eliminate the critical shortage of organs for patients desperately in need of life-saving transplants.

The President makes a surprise visit to Afghanistan setting in motion the end of the war.

Ugh….

I don’t think I missed much.  Sadly.

Reading headlines from online newspapers, venues of journalism or so-called journalism, nothing is surprising.

Not too happy with Jessica Simpson.

The jilted dentist lost her license to practice dentistry now. Ummm…I guess her ex is looking for dentures a little sooner than he thought!

And I can’t understand why the Dutch don’t want to sell marijuana to tourists? I would be offended if I went there and they labeled me a tourist.

I wonder how many “occupiers” who had a job yesterday and protested will have a job tomorrow. Did their employers give them the day off? Do they get paid anyway? If so I want a job like that. Only I want protest against capitalism, I will protest why facebook wants a timeline. Just for the record I never got it!

The Navy Seals who killed the world’s worst terrorist are heroes. Like the rest of the military who sacrifice 24/7 a life most could never live. Or the missionaries who forsake family and friends to serve God in other countries under who knows what kind of living conditions. Or the many who preach the gospel in the most dangerous places on earth.

Mark Zuckerburg….you may not know it, but God is using you.

And the President goes to Afghanistan. Did he take 2 Billion dollars they want from us with him? And if he gave them our hard-earned money what are they using it for?

He announces he is working directly with the Taliban. What? Tell me he doesn’t really believe terrorists are peace seeking thugs? We don’t negotiate with terrorists.

BTW: The President keeps telling people he’s bringing all the troops home. The AFB here keeps deploying my tenants or moving my property owners who will be deployed.

Nice news? Good news? Our mindset knows only evil as journalists continue to report the “bad and the ugly.”  The fallout of the John Edwards trial, the Ohio bridge bomb and the suicide of an NFL player shine on the covers of the front page. And the beat goes on….

And once again facebook comes to the rescue of a dying veteran who wanted his ticket refunded from “Spirit Airlines.” The despicable act has waged a boycott war of the airline in support of this kind man who can’t fly to see his daughter now due to his declining health.

Life is tough enough without a daily bashing from journalists and news media whose joint effort is to promote anguish, calamity and tribulation.

My guess is they don’t read the Bible. Ratings trump anything worthwhile to the point of exceeding the limits of drudgery and wretchedness.

1 Timothy 4: 4 “For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.”

The news is categorized as the same as vile music, detestable movies and shameful TV.

So just turn it off and soak in some peace.  You know, like “Peace Brother.”   lol

Ms. Rosen, You could learn a thing or two from Eve

Posted on

Hilary Rosen, Obama’s campaign manager might want to chuck in her advisory board on women. Her explosive, less than maternal rhetoric just backfired. Don’t knock stay at home moms. Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs on the planet.

The choice to stay home to raise children is a privilege, an honor, a God given right….and yet Ms. Rosen who claims to be a Lesbian raising twins, says stay-at-home mothers have no business giving advice because “they have never worked a day in their life?”  Ugh….she isn’t speaking on my behalf.

Her unfounded “chit chat” is speaking to more than just Ann Romney. I am not politicizing my political fair here; I am sure Ann Romney took her job very seriously as have the many other “women who have never worked a day in their life.”  Ms. Rosen you are not welcomed at the PTA or the local Roller Rink or the Circle of Stay at Home Moms.

As a past single mother I built my life around my daughter’s schedule. God gave me a job where I could work during her school hours. My parents kept her when my job required night and weekend work. These were the hardest years of my life. Juggling the priorities of raising a child alone, working to feed us and enduring health issues was a daily struggle that no words can describe. I know both sides of the issue. I lived it.

I considered those who had the option to stay at home to be just as qualified in the working world as I was. Many, I am sure could out juggle me any day.

I wonder what Ms. Rosen and those who think as she does, believe the centuries of women before them who always stayed home did? Nothing? They added zilch to the business affairs of the husband?

Ms. Rosen I am now a stay at home wife, mother and business entrepreneur and loving every minute of it.

For those like you who believe we are unintelligent, clueless, and a miserly sidekick to our husbands, you are a thorn in the side of a mule. Your jab is the arrogance of one who has no respect for the countless mothers who renounce the plastic ladder of success for the satisfaction and treasure of doing that which you can’t do yourself.

No job has taught me what I learned raising a child.

Maybe in some twisted irony your rumbled impeachment of stay at home moms will give open dialogue for these women who tirelessly change diapers, nurture cuts and fevers, and cope with throw up 24/7.

Besides the above, mothering occurs between naps of toddlers and rants of teenagers. While we are busy feeding their bottomless pits, chasing bad boys out the door or putting our lives in danger as they learn to drive, we are raising the future of America.

Mothering includes careers as a financial genius, extraordinary negotiators and all around peacemakers. We are adept in micromanaging broken arms, nightmares and the overall household army of responsibilities.

Stay at home moms should be honored, rewarded, and recognized for a job well done instead of being scrutinized and offered up as bait for a belittling contest of nobility.

We are qualified Ms. Rosen to aid in the campaigns of our men’s lives whatever that may be.

Eve was Adam’s partner chosen by God as his helpmate. God gave her to Adam as a support system because he qualified her to perform the immense demands of keeping a home and family. Proverbs 31

Had she not been, Adam would never have shown up for work.

Do you love your cashier?

My visit to the grocery store this morning was a usual enlightenment. The produce man was sitting on the floor dividing up the apples from the oranges. The cake baker was counting her cakes. The number of shoppers like myself were only a few including the woman who graced our presence by wearing her pajamas.

What struck me though was the one and only cashier up front. She looked tired. Unhappy.  She never smiled and her “how are you” was one of “I don’t really care how you are.”

I felt compassion for her as she looked down the aisle at the long line that had grown. Why didn’t they bring another cashier to help her or a bag boy?

Cashiers have a tough job. Theirs is one most of us never want.  It is a thankless position. A part time job for extra money or the full time cashier trying to make a living.

Cashiers:

Stand on their feet for hours at a time.

Are subjected to abuse of all kinds.

Are expected to know everything from what row the coffee is on to “why isn’t it still on sale?”

Are exposed to raw meat, filthy money and dirty  hands.

Are exposed to unruly, screaming children at the hands of parents who do not discipline them.

Are open targets for thieves, drunks and a few nice people.

Endure long lines of aggravated, impatient customers due to cuts in personnel.

The following are a few everyday occurrences in the life of a cashier…..as I have witnessed….

Customer: “Is this ice cream on sale?”
Cashier: “I’m not sure. You can check the weekly specials.”
Customer: “What? You oughta know that?
Cashier: “Ma’am, it will also show on the door of the frozen food section where you found it.”
Customer: “Just ring it up and it better be on sale.”
Cashier rings up ice cream. “No ma’am it is not on sale this week, that was last week. Do you still want it?”
Customer: “Yes, but only at the sale price.”
Cashier: “I’m sorry but it is not for sale.”
Customer: “Fine. I don’t want it then. And you shouldn’t be working here if you can’t do any better than that.”

or this one…..

Customer: “How much is this 6 pack of beer?”
Cashier: “I’m not sure ma’am.”
Customer: “Oh, it don’t matter anyhow. I got food stamps. While you’re at it get me a carton of cigarettes too.”
The cashier watches as the customer gets in their brand new BMW.

Cashiers are people, not sitting ducks for us to throw rocks at. or steal from. or verbally abuse.

Cashiers usually work because they need to.  I can’t imagine anyone subjecting themselves to such scrutiny for the heck of it.

Cashiers paychecks are usually based on minimum wage. They aren’t paid to know everything.

Cashiers have feelings just like we do. Give them a break.

The next time you are in the presence of a cashier, be kind. Be nice.

Smile.  Give them a tip. Ask how they are doing. Treat them like you want to be treated. Show them respect.

Show appreciation for the job they do everyday. Show concern for their well being in the midst of chaotic and hateful people.

Take up for them. Show them understanding of the daily grind they are subjected to as they try to make a living.

Who knows. Maybe they will think Jesus paid them a visit, not just another customer.

Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would like them to do to you.”

Caesar, we don’t own a tractor.

Tax

Tax (Photo credit: 401K)

It’s that time again. February is the month.  The time frame is set in stone. At least it is winter and going outdoors is not an option. So I may as well do it. Only I don’t want to. I dread it every year. A “thorn” in my side.

Losing in rummy over and over is better than having to itemize my taxes to send to the accountant. I spent hours Saturday working on this inevitable mess of paperwork spread out all over the kitchen table and I am still not finished.

Doctor receipts. Drug receipts. Charitable statements. Property taxes paid. W-2 forms. Investment statements. Interest statements. Tuition paid. Dental receipts. Statements for who knows what and a 30 page Organizer from the Accountant to fill out full of questions unheard of.

Itemizing our deductions have paid off to some extent except when viewing  the W-2 form to see how much Caesar has already taken out. I realize it is Biblical to pay taxes; I have issues as to whether he is using our hard-earned tax dollars for the latest “gladiator contests” or “beast hunts.”

Mark 12:17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God‘s.” And they were amazed at him.

I have to wonder what really belongs to Caesar. My religious liberty. My kitchen floor. Our goldfish. My soul.

Julius Caesar (1953 film)

Image via Wikipedia

My feeble brain tries to wrap itself around the questions asked. Now I do realize Caesar has many occupiers who fund the public welfare that many of these questions would apply.

For instance: Did you use gasoline or special fuels for business or farm purposes? We do not own a tractor.

Did you engage in any put or call transactions? I thought they put you in jail for that.

Did you receive  unreported tip income of $20 or more for any month in 2011? No, I am not a waitress. I am the maid and no one tips me.

Did you purchase a new technology vehicle, including a qualified plug-in-electric drive motor vehicle in 2011? Why would I do that? I have the best car in the world. It is called, “paid off.”

This one really caught my eye. Under Itemized deductions in the Miscellaneous categories ; evidently you can deduct your gambling losses. What?

Page 20 of the Organizer asks these questions?

Do you plan for your marital status to change in 2012? ugh…if I thought it was going to change I certainly wouldn’t tell you!

Do you plan to change the number of dependents? ugh…only if God chooses us to follow Abraham and Sara’s footsteps. (please God no!)

Do you plan to have a substantial change in your income? Now how would I know that? Oh, I get it. The IRS wants their piece of my pie before it is cooked!

Who comes up with this stuff? Is this for real?

And who started this Estimated Tax assessment? The other name for this is, “Prepay.” Caesar wants  his before you get it. What? How is that fair?
I wonder if Caesar would refund my refund before they take out any of our taxes? duh…

The Bible says in Romans 13:6 “This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full-time to governing.”

In other words we are to pay our taxes. Caesar is supposed to get what is rightfully his? What is rightfully his? OH! I know what the problem is!

Caesar needs a new Bible. After all his is centuries old. Wine and coffee stains. Pages torn out. Wrinkled and smudged.

Maybe his dog ate the pages out about taxation. He has to know the tax laws and codes need some tweaking.

Well, we can get him a Bible. I’ll  text Gideon. I am sure he can get one to Caesar.

Anyone have his number?

State of the Union, What?

Posted on
American flag

Image via Wikipedia

The time of year has arrived. The moment is almost here. The House will be all a buzz seating Congress, the Senate and maybe the Supreme Court. Handshakes everywhere. Smiles. Waving across the aisles. Did I say across the aisles?

Yes. The State of the Union Address is tonight. Will you be watching? Of course you know NCIS Los Angeles won’t be airing due to this wonderful occasion. Or is it?

I can’t or don’t even want to answer my own question. Our State of the Union is in the biggest mess I have ever known in all my years on this earth.

We have a President who wants Socialized Medicine and rammed “Obamacare” down our throats with the help of you know who and you know who.

We have a President who wants to raise the debt ceiling again to spend money we don’t have. Oh that is to give more to welfare and that program needs it so more people can get the kind of alcohol and cigarettes they want.

We have a President, who according to his top Senior Aide this morning will not discuss his turning down the Canada-Texas Oil pipeline even though it would create thousands of jobs.  Instead he will discuss environmental issues.

This same Senior White House Aide, Valerie Jarrett made it clear President Obama would speak on equality for all including financial. I wonder if that means that those of us paying for those 49 million on welfare will get our fair share back? Is that equal? If we are paying high dollars for taxes for people who don’t want to work how can that be fair? She thinks it is so. After all she reiterated the wealthy will or should be paying a lot more than they are. Is that fair?

I wonder what  Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey think about that. We know what Warren Buffett thinks. Maybe she should call Donald Trump and ask him for a donation. No, I am sure he would hang up on her. Or worse. She really should ask Oprah for a donation since she endorsed him. Isn’t she wealthy?

Ms. Jarrett spoke that the President would issue statements on the Economic Recovery and how many jobs have been created under his administration. When has that happened? Did I miss that one? His calculator must not be working correctly.

The President is planning to focus on fairness.Where? In  Cuba? Iran? Venezuela? Oh, excuse me. Those countries are run by dictators. I am so glad I live in the USA. The Land of the Free.

Freedom of Speech (Occupy Wall Street) Freedom of Religion (no more nativity scenes, crosses or Christian symbols on government property) Freedom of Entrepreneurship (Spread the Wealth after you have worked your whole life you must give it all to the government.)  Freedom to have your own healthcare, choose your own doctors, and clinics. (Obamacare) Freedom to decide if you want to buy healthcare or be forced to even if you don’t have a job or can’t afford it?

Is all that fair? Is that America? Oh, excuse me again. I must have my facts wrong. That can’t be America. That is what happens in a dictatorship.

Let me say here that I respect the Office of the President. The Bible teaches us to respect those in authority. It is when that authority forces us to choose between them and God that we are to choose God. America, Hang On to God!

Complain? In America? Naaaaa……

I don’t know if other people experience the demise of household items as we do, but I would like to call a truce.

My phone quit a few weeks ago. Yesterday  the big screen TV died. Our college age daughter announced she needs 4 new tires.

What is it with these technology devices and rubber maid rollers that continue to break or wear out?  Am I doing something wrong? Right now I want to complain. Oh. I don’t know who to complain to. But I will lay some blame. That should be fun.  At least it might make me feel better.

I  blame the phone company for making such cheap products that my phones always manage to quit working before my contract is up.

I blame Donald Trump for not trying hard enough to get our TV manufacturers back in the United States, instead of China. As a result it has never worked right.

I blame our daughter for driving from here to kingdom  come and back which added so many miles on her car she needs new tires. (I won’t mention that she drives like Jeff Gordon or what’s her name? oh yea, Danika Patrick except she isn’t on a race track.)

So glad I can at least blame someone or something for all the interruptions and inconveniences in my life. Spreading blame is almost as satisfying as complaining. In this country we sure have a lot of great examples in both those categories so we are all experts.

The issue I have with these issues are it happens everywhere; not just from the rivals in our government, but our schools, neighborhoods and even our churches. What I can’t figure out is if we are so blessed in this country why are we complaining? Why do we shift blame to others when we don’t get what we want? Ohhhhh yea! I got it! We think we deserve better!

In our twisted, warped brains we have decided we are above the law, due a reprieve no matter what and given a license to complain. Once we have aired our negative, self pitying attitudes because we didn’t get  the phone we wanted, new tires immediately or that Hitachi I wanted, we vent by laying blame on some cashier or poor soul  who just happens to be the in the line of our fire who had nothing to do with our plight.

Let me say I am first in line for these ill conditions. Or I use to be.

We have no right to complain. Do you have indoor plumbing, electricity and every piece of technology known to man? Do you have a roof over your head, clothes to wear and a job? Do you have food to eat, a car to drive and a church to worship in?

The Bible clearly states we should not complain. (Philippians 2: 14) I am a work in progress. As a child I wondered why we had these things and other people didn’t. Now I know they did not drop out of the sky somehow and land in our backyard.

I catch myself these days before I even think of complaining. It takes effort since it has been woven in my genes but I watch my thoughts and words so as not to speak that evil. If I do, repentance takes over. At least I have gotten that far. My hope would be to  to get to the place where no complaint leaves my lips.

Of course that would take an act of God. You know that just might work.

Santa “Occupied Wallstreet” Before the Depression

Posted on

I want to tell you a Christmas Story.

Years ago there was a young man who worked hard to make a living. He saved his money because he thought that was a smart thing to do so he bought some stock.

Then in 1929 the depression hit. Life was hard for all and he knew he would have to work harder. The bank told him the depression had caused them to lose their money so they couldn’t give him his stock back. The young man agreed to leave the stock as a note with the bank.

Many Christmas’s later he was a proud grandfather. He had a wonderful family with 4 sons, and 8 grandchildren. Every Christmas Eve the family would gather together at his house for a wonderful meal and to open presents. This particular Christmas Eve there were 8 letter sized envelopes attached to the Christmas Tree; each with the grandchildren’s  names on them.

Of course everyone wondered what was in those envelopes, but no one could find out until all the dishes were cleaned and put away.

Finally, all gathered in the living room and without hesitation all 8 envelopes were given to the grandchildren.

It was a stock trust fund giving $8,000 for each grandchild to go to college. $2,000 per year for 4 years. One of the granddaughter’s dream had been to go to college, but her parents did not know how it would get paid for. She jumped up, and hugged her grandfather for this life changing gift.

The grandfather proceeded to tell his family that before the depression he bought some stock in a bank. At the time it was worth $200.00. Some 35-40  years later the stock had grown to over $64,000.00. This financial gift was the additional funds needed for all of his 8 grandchildren to get a college education.

Those “Occupying Wall Street” could learn a thing or two from this man who used the stock market as a savings account.

First, he was wise enough to invest in something  that he knew would make him a profit.

Second, he believed in giving which is probably why the Lord allowed his investment to grow.

Third, he didn’t touch it for years. He allowed whatever profit it made to be re-invested.

Fourth, he changed the lives of 8 people  who otherwise might not have received a college education.

God rewards those who believe in his word.  He rewards those who are unselfish with their money. He rewards those with a giving heart.

He even rewards those who invest in the stock market for the good of God’s people.

Friends, this is a true story. That entrepreneur was my grandfather. I am the grown woman who was that little girl who dreamed of getting a college education. An education that helped aid in my ability to write today to spread the news of Jesus Christ.

Edgar Drennan Craig, My Grandfather

THIS BLOG IS NAMED AFTER THE BUSINESS HE STARTED. CRAIGMOTOR COMPANY, INC.

MANY MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY HAVE WORKED THERE INCLUDING MY DAD AND HIS BROTHERS WHO HELPED MAKE IT A SUCCESS. IN 2004, AFTER MUCH  SOUL SEARCHING WE SOLD IT. IT WAS 83 YEARS OLD.

Grow Up? Why?

Yesterday I posted a semi-rant after watching a video from Facebook  from someone who believes the “occupy wall-street” protestors had every right to protest. Yes, our constitution allows for that. BUT WHEN DO WE GROW UP?

Most of those protesting appear to be young people; by that I mean younger than I am. Thinking back when I was their age protesting was not on my agenda. Maybe that was because I was too busy trying to graduate from college and get on with my life. Did I miss something? Oh yea. They want that on their resume!

“I was a Wall-Street Occupier. I sat in the cold for days on end, slept in a tent with no heat and ate bugs. I deserve a job.” I don’t have that on my resume. Will protesting be a requirement now to get a job?

Growing up these days is hard, I know that. I heard the other day we actually don’t make wise decisions until age 50.

If this is true what about the other 49 years prior to the big 50? Does this mean we don’t have to be accountable for ourselves? Does it mean we are excused for our stupidity for the 49 years prior to this?  I wish I was younger so I could be in this category.

For those of us who have already gone past the 1/2 century mark are we to be placed in the stocks  for working, raising children and paying our bills on time because we are held accountable?  Are we excused for the 49 years prior because I just read this on yahoo the other day? If so, that isn’t fair.

To be honest I know people who never grow up. Do you know anyone like that? It is as if they are stuck. I wonder if they want to be stuck. What happens before that magic day of accountability  when life slaps you in the face with something you can’t handle?

Do you run to those who are occupying wall street? Do you run to another unaccountable person like you? Do you run to the almighty government?

No. You run to someone who is accountable. You run to someone who loves you. You run to someone with answers.

His name is Jesus

Remember him? The one your accountable parents taught you about? The Savior who died for you on a cross that literally changed the world? The Lamb of God who is always with you and  will be with you when your life falls apart?

My advice: It is time to grow up America. Stop your protests and complaining and realize you live in the most blessed country in the world. You might want to do that quickly before it all falls apart because when it does happen you might be fighting  for that foxhole the atheists have jumped into.

Occupy…..

I have decided that since the protestors are “occupying wall street” I want to occupy something.  Must be fun or they wouldn’t keep doing it. How do they keep doing it?

I guess it depends on what you are occupying. They have camped out on streets in big cities, and in front of capital buildings and businesses. Do you need a permit to do that? Those little girls this past summer selling lemonade on the street in front of their home were told they needed a permit.

Wonder what would happen if I decided to occupy my neighborhood. Do you think my neighbors would protest? Oh, they are nice people. They wouldn’t mind me walking around yelling ” I now occupy our neighborhood.”

Just think of all I could get away with. I could read their mail. Ride the pink bicycle across the street. Take their newspapers, read them and then throw them back in their yards.  Someone has a nice red Corvette parked in their driveway. Maybe it could be moved to my driveway.

Or what if I wanted to occupy the mall? Oh wow. Think of the stores I could raid. Clothing, shoes, phones, knickknacks. There is a nice area in the middle of our mall where I could camp out. The Sears store probably has a tent I could occupy. I will go there first.

You know what would really be fun to occupy? The Police Dept. Sure. I can see it now. Local Protestor occupies Police Department.” She has managed to fire all employees and re-hired the unemployed. Oh, by the way, the new employees are not trained police officers. They consider themselves to be vigilantes.

I must tell you what I would like to occupy the most. WASHINGTON! Oh, I can feel it in my bones. Driving to the White House in my new police car, I would step out and declare, “I now Occupy Washington.” The following are some of the changes I would make.

My first duty would be to clean house. I would get every one on Capital Hill together in the House and make them read the Bible out loud to each other and agree to govern accordingly.  If they disagree, they will immediately be replaced with a modern-day Moses, David, Paul or Ester.  I might throw “Matthew, the Tax Man” in to overhaul our tax code.

Next, I would  eliminate the debt, build up our military and throw Obamacare out on the front lawn of the Whitehouse.  I would set up a balanced budget, overhaul medicare and Medicaid and set into rule marriage is only between a man and a woman.

I would call into order anyone on welfare who buys beer and cigarettes, has manicured nails and fills their grocery carts with anything other than food they actually need. If they can work and are not, we will help them find a job. We will not throw a stimulus of taxpayer money to help them do it either.

Money wasted on such entities as Solyndra, Planned Parenthood and NPR will be immediately stopped and given to charities like the Salvation Army and Samaritan’s Purse.

Last but not least, our government will shrink to the size of a nickel. It was not created to do everything.

So, are you ready for me to occupy?
