I do not find these questions that many ask Cathy a Mystery and God tells us we wont if we have asked for and believed we have received His wisdom ( see below) and then by the empowering of The Holy Spirit Jesus our only Teacher will lead us into all Godly understanding, sadly many remain ignorant and childish because they choose to not believe in God’s promises or Trust and depend on Him as a Child does and this is the same for some well known Theologians both past and present. Sometimes it is because of their own life experiences that cause this response as it is with others but also with some it is because of Pride in their own fleshy wisdom and their arrogance that they alone are sufficient, so they reject dependence on God and see it as a weakness.
1 Corinthians 2:9-16 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that Love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with Spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned. Pastor, I saw it on fb and knew it was needed. I pray people will realize the root cause of such horror.
I meant to add Cathy, when tradgies like this happen people sadly including Christians question God’s Love and protection but even if God’s Truth is shared, those who Trust in their own understanding or others without confirmation, will reject it even when confirmed in the Scriptures, sometimes they won’t even read them but even if they do, if they haven’t asked for and received God’s wisdom then they will still reject them, only Spiritual eyes can understand and receive the Truth from God, the natural or fleshy man can’t, as the Scriptures I shared confirm. God chooses those the world considers foolish , those who lack degrees and High Honors, those who are not popular by wordily thinking, even woman, wow a male Chauvinist will find this hard to cope with but then many listened to Deborah knowing she spoke with God’s wisdom and Authority but of course they were also lacking fleshy ego.
When we have no wordily teaching then we are more willing to listen to Gods . He equips and uplifts…. pride goes before a fall but that is referring to worldly pride in their own fleshy wisdom and knowledge or those who they feel are worthy and accebtable and of course say what they want to hear. We are to have Godly Pride and walk in assurance and not doubt with God’s wisdom we can do this. Be in touch soon – Anne.
Anne, I know. People will automatically jump to the wrong conclusions. Anyone who carries out such a horror is possessed. But most, even Christians do not believe that. They don’t realize they need to be delivered from the evil that surrounds us. We really need to continue praying for repentance in our country; and everywhere. It is sad that it takes a tragedy like this to get people praying. Otherwise it isn’t done or talked about. It makes me feel bad for God that people reach for him as a last resort; I know what it feels like to only be wanted when needed. I can only imagine how it breaks God’s heart.
