I am so glad I am a Christian. My emotional and mental state would be in more despair than it already is if God hadn’t unveiled me.
The world’s mess and clutter would normally send me off to the “funny farm” or cynical depression would set in like a flood. No jokes please!
Well, maybe cynical or sarcastic rogue would become an alternative.
The list goes on of unbelievable lies, politics as a self promotion and yet there are starving children in the Sudan. And we have a government bent on giving food stamps and welfare to well intended workers who simply don’t work because they are “entitled.”
One who sits on his own pedestal only to lose his base to another who seeks to work and work hard to feed his family is a boastful idiot. My thought process is to feed the diligent worker and leave the idiot to his fateful loss. I wait for the pedestal to collapse resulting in some bruised ends and ego.
Maybe it is the “underdog” syndrome in me but more the grace and mercy of a loving God towards his humble and ethic driven mentality. Again the phrase, “attitude over genius” is a promotion in waiting. Humility is the reward of truth while “Executive Privilege” comes with the territory of prestige.
For the humble at heart where is their “Executive Privilege?” Is the President of the United States running to their exoneration? Or is he showing up at the last minute as the idiot falls off of his pedestal to save him or himself?
It is just too sly or seemingly questionable.
As a family awaits the truth about their dead son who fell to the thwarts of a “sting operation” that went awry, our leaders decided to cover it up to save themselves.

While many other Mexicans have been slaughtered due to their negligence and irresponsibility our government tries to shovel it under the rug.
And the Bible says,
Luke 8:17 “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”
Oh, what a wicked web we do weave.
We have so much important work to do. Our frazzled entertained brains have distanced themselves from the truth of those who hurt. As lives fall apart at the seams we distress ourselves with more garbage instead of aligning ourselves with the one who sews those seams back together.
Falling on my knees before Jesus brings peace.
Realizing I am so far from “Executive Privilege” makes me happy.
My freedom is not seeping from the feet of that which our country leans heavily upon.
My joy is far from the pavement of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
My Savior isn’t given “Executive Privilege” or a room at the “Funny Farm.”
My Savior carried a beaten down cross to give me freedom from both.

Terry, I think we as Americans don’t understand our privilege is in Christ. If we did, our messes would go away.
Part of the dying to ourselves is being able to look at the waste and mistakes in the world around us, and still somehow love those who disagree with our views.
